Sleeved and Home

I am home. Sleeved on Thursday morning, and released home last night. That first shower was *heavenly*. Right now I have churning in my stomach, and it's growling. The broth I am trying to drink leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I have burning when I drink my liquids too. Just lasts a second like it's clogged and trying to go through. Coughing up a lot of phlegm, and have a lot of blood I'm still blowing out of my nose. Well, I look forward to the next week and getting back on my feet.

I hope things get better quickly for you. Just concentrate on staying hydrated and worry about the protein and vitamins later. Perhaps herbal tea, diet cranberry juice diluted with water, water with a little squeeze of lime...

Feel better and rest.

Welcome home!

So excited your home and your sleeved!!  The growling and hunger should stop soon.  I remember being so hungry in the hospital and within a few days I didn't have an appetite at all.  Tastes sometimes seem really strong, sweet, salty, or sour.  Keep trying different liquids until you find one that works for you.  I drank a lot of SF hot chocolate and after a week or so I put Chocolate Protein in it ( I didn't want to waste the Protein until I knew I could drink the whole thing)

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

Congrats and welcome home! You might want to try the more liquid protiens rather than the thicker ones. I know that made a huge difference for me early out.

Take good care of yourself, remember sip sip sip

Getting home is a huge step and I know I felt better each and every day.  Rest, sip, walk, repeat.

also, stick out your tongue in the mirror.  If it is coated with white, you have thrush.  Get something from the dr to treat it.  It makes everything taste horrible and it is pretty common after surgery.

Are you on an acid reducer?  that can help with the churning and burning.

Welcome to the Loser's Bench.

No place like home to heal.  Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest.
