I haven't cooked duck but daddy was a duck hunter and we used to have it all the time.  Mother would boil it in a soy sauce and water mix, maybe some onions, etc too, the roast it and top it with orange marmalade.  You could use low sodium and SF to make it WS friendly.  She did the boiling to get rid of the grease.

That is a good idea.  I might try it again sometime, but I'll boil it first.  That sounds like it would help.

What kind did you buy at GNC so I avoid it?

I don't think I've ever had duck? I didn't realize it was so fatty.

What kind of totals are you getting in?

Let's see it's called (GNC) Amplified 100% Whey Protein.  The packet is darkbrown/black with a dark red metallic color across the top.  I should have looked more closely at the nutrition label but I was in a hurry and saw it was whey protein and thought it would be just like the other one I had bought.

Turns out the other one wasn't GNC it was TwinLab.  Funny enough with that one, it sat for months in my pantry because while it was ok it seemed too chocolatey to me.  Then one day I ran out of my Jay Robb and tried it and really enjoyed it.  Can't remember where I got it though.  Obviously not GNC - May have been the MCX at Quantico.

I like Duck but don't have it often.  I was able to buy just a duck breast a few weeks ago and split it between us and DS and DH both liked it a lot.  They liked the whole duck I did yesterday but it just was too fatty and I like poultry skin when it's crisp so I get tempted to eat it.  Price had a good suggestion about boiling it before roasting and I think that's a good idea.

I just started journalling again as I'd slipped from doing that, but I'm getting about 70g of protein in and about 1100 calories.  The fat and carbs varied the last two days.

On Saturday it was like 45g of carbs and 15 of that came from Kale and the fat was only about 13 g.  Sunday was a different story because of the duck,  I'm estimating the fat must have been about 40g or something  I might be over estimating - I hope so- and the carbs was about 80 I think (including Kale)  I put a couple of spoons of orange sauce on the duck so I'm estimating it up as well.  Won't be doing that again in a hurry

Today is better,  I still have to decide on dinner but so far only about 425 cals, 33g protein, 30g carb and 12 g fat.

I wasn't given guidance on the amount of carbs from my doctor because they don't want you eating any carbs except the ones from fruit and veg and even then they don't want you eating much in the way of white potatoes.  I don't eat a lot of them but I do eat a little.

I'd like to see you get that Protein total at least over 80 unless the whole 67 is from Whey Protein.

Day 4 of eating my way through New Orleans.  My pants still fit so I don't think I have been too awful but I know I will need to get back on routine when I get home.  Other than the rich sauces, the french bread has been the worse offender.  go**** is wonderful but will be over soon.  I have endulged myself without guilt, just with the knowledge that it will be over soon enough.  My other surprise is that I haven't felt much restriction.  I certainly haven't cleaned my plate but I have eaten tiny amounts either.  Wonder if a day of shakes is in my future to get my restriction back???

decaf protein coffee
eggs, sausage, 1/2 biscuit, 2 bites of grits, early breakfast
protein hot chocolate
protein bar
red beans and tiny amount of rice, sausage, late lunch
protein bar
protein bar
popcorn

The trip in last night was long and no time in the airports to get anything to eat. thank goodness I had 2 protein bars in my purse still.  By the time we landed in Charlotte and still had to drive home, I couldn't see eating and just got a bag of popcorn.  Up 6 lbs this morning from my last Sunday weigh in, a good bit of it in my tree truck looking swollen leg.  I bet most of it will be gone by next Sunday.

It is amazing to me how little restriction I have when I eat carbs like bread and chips.  You would think they would fill you up fast.  I feel the most restriction with Meat.

No dumping on the sauces and bread?

If you struggle when you get home I would do a day or two of drinks but I'm betting you will be just fine when you get home and get back into your routine.

Enjoy Price!

nothing close to a dump the whole time.  Even with protein, like the last breakfast, i had 2 eggs, 2.5 piece of sausage, 1/2 biscuit and was fine.  I just wouldn't have thought I could eat that much.

So far so good today.  I'm planning a veggie carb only day.
