Was it Olive Garden? I made that mistake once. They do put butter in the wine garlic sauce but don't know if they are counting all that sauce that you don't eat. BUt the protein count is good.

 It was bertucci's mussels appetizer. - the white one. Half the cals had to come from broth- which I didn't eat as such. No way you could get that much fat and calories into mussels!

You may be surprised.  I've had times when I ate things that were higher in calories then I thought and wound up losing more weight.  I always thought that being on a calorie restricted diet, that by getting extra the body was shocked into losing somehow.  At least that's what I told myself.  I didn't do it too often but whenever I did I saw a loss.

Well, I don't even know what mussels are...LOL   I never buy anything with sauce on it when we are out becuse I'm scared I'll dump on fat and sugar.  It was probably a better choice that carbs or fried though.

Next time ask for a Calorie chart.  I think all restaurants have them now.  Lots of times I look on-line ahead of time if I know where I'm going to eat.

DGS loved the Samoas.  He looked really cautious taking the first bite but he came back for a second one.  His Mom really didn't think he would like them. I didn't even offer him one of the oatmeal/PB because I didn't want them opened.

An almost perfect menu....LOL
