I didn't have hormones until my surgery. I was/am still on HRT. I just started another period. I need to call Gyn today and see if I should discontinue HRT since I'm having periods again. HAs prob are hormone related. I feel like I'm pregnant. I cry like a baby at songs on the radio, fly off the handle with little provocation....I'm a tough old broad. This is totally out of character for me.
you definitely need to talk to your gyn - HRT is for post menopausal women and can definitely be part of the problem. If hopefully you are having normal periods and not what I talked about in another post I responded to earlier called post menopausal bleeding. If it is the return of your period - not sure how long it has been since you last went post menopausal but if you suddenly get your periods that means you have a surge of estrogen and then you are taking HRT which is more estrogen - that is dangerous - first it will give you headaches, it is very dangerous to the heart to have so much estrogen that is why they say HRT is risky - my cardiologist wont even let me take it says it can cause heart attacks and strokes but with too much estrogen you are increasing your risk - then you are increasing your risk for blood clots. HRT isn't needed if you are getting your periods. You need to find out if you are truely post menopausal and this is abnormal bleeding or if your periods returned.
One other factor is that now that you are getting your periods, you are risk for getting pregnant again - HRT isnt' the same a birth control - you may need to have a pregnancy test done

thank goodness. I just got worried when you said you felt pregnant and you said you got your period again - that is when you hear stories of women in there 50's getting pregnant. they just assume they didnt'get there periods because they are post menopausal and just go about there business, dont use birth control and then are shocked to learn they are 6 or 7 months pregnant.

That's a good point Stacey. I am allergic to our long haired cat. We get her shaved twice a year. It is getting very close to time to have her groomed. I have been using my allergy eye drops a lot for the last 2 weeks. I will make an appt to see the eye doctor too. It is time for my annual exam. My vision has been very stable for about 20 years, but you never know.
