8 months & 3 days after surgery
Hi All,
I don't get on here as much as I used to - I guess I'm having too much fun!!! Just wanted to post my progress and thanks to all who have helped me on this journey. To newbies who are considering it, or just recently had the sleeve - I had many apprehensions before going through with surgery, but I am so glad I have.
Some "scale" victories - I have lost 83 pounds from my highest weight this time last year, and down 42.25 inches!!! I am wearing smalls & mediums, about size 8 (last time I shopped). I could not be more pleased. I am about where I want to be so I am in the maintaining mode now, although I will probably lose about 5-10# during this time just in case for "bounce back"-but I am not as intense on losing now.
Some non-scale victories: I can sit in my comfortable chair with my grandsons at my side instead of on my lap; shopping is so much fun; I have so much more energy I cannot believe it and I feel like my "old self"' and I can actually run with my grandson on our walks while he is riding is little bike (he is 3 yrs old).
I follow the my surgeon's plan probably about 90% of the time, and Weigh****chers points plus, which emphasizes whole foods, lean proteins, etc and seems to match the foods list in my package from my surgeon. I try and avoid "bad" carbs, but I do have fruits, veggies, dairy and whole grains (not as much whole grains tho').
I do still drink my protein drinks - mainly Isopure to get in 40 gms quickly. I track everything that goes into my mouth on myfitnesspal.com and WW site to make sure I am keeping on track. In 2 weeks I will be lifetime on Weigh****chers, which I like for the continued support (my surgeon's office is not as convenient).
I am so happy, just wanted to share with all of you who have been so supportive and educational for me. I read a lot more than I post when I am on here anymore. It is a different mindset as I am about where I want to be, and so I am focusing on increasing activity to firm up and hopefully my skin won't look as bad (although I'll take it everyday over being 83# heavier).
God Bless all of you, and I cannot express how grateful I am to all of you!
Lynn
