PCP visit

I had my annual physical today with my PCP.  It was really pretty funny.  I had my labs done for my surgeon at her office so I thought we would go over them.  She said she didn't order them and didn't know why they ordered what they did and what they were looking for.  HA, at least she was honest.
Then she said "you are just a normal person now".  No co-morbidities, no issues to follow, etc.  See you in a year, like a "normal" person.  She also said "all it took was losing 100lbs"    no more high blood pressure, high cholesteral, sleep apnea, etc.  ALL IT TOOK !!!!!  Like that was just a walk around the block.
I guess all that would be upsetting to some folks but I thought the whole thing was pretty funny.

I guess we just need to understand, once we're normal, we're no longer interesting to our docs. lol  You rock, Price!

Well, that does depend on your pcp.

Mine finds us more interesting now cause we are SO normal....he has mentioned using us a poster children for his other MO patients IF they express an interest in the surgical option.

Wow, Price! Hearing yourself called normal must have been wonderful. Gina is correct though. You really don't want to be interesting to your doctor. That usually means bad things for you.

At my last dr's appt, she asked me about my weight loss and had forgotten about my
asking her over a year before for the referral for weight loss surgery. I am hoping to get
her to think of weight loss surgery as a treatment option for obesity as she was happy
with my results so far.

Congrats Price...I love your attitude...your physician acts like losing 100 pounds is just a
walk in the park!!!

Price, you  rock!!! Who knew, that it would be so great to be "normal."

The last time that I saw my PCP, he told me that I could send him questions via secure message. I will always me grateful to him for suggesting WLS. It wasn't even on my radar.
