Looking back

Today I weighed 159 lbs.  I am tickled pink.  I am so happy with my weight loss and the way I look and feel.  When I told DH I was having RNY he was very resistant.  After studying the statistics that show the average long term weight loss is about 65% of excess weight,  DH asked me if I thought surgery was worth it for just 65 pounds.  I said yes I did.  Now, I would say, Hell YES!  Honestly, if I never lost another pound I would be okay with it.  I wear a size 14 and look and feel normal around other women.

Dont get me wrong, I am not done.  I weighed 125-128 after I had 3 kids and had my thyroid ablated.  It is my goal to get there again.  I am just saying, for those not there yet, and looking at that statistic that 65% of excess weight is a tremendous amount.  I am a million times healthier, getting more energy everyday and receive compliments daily on how I look.  Does it get better than that?  I doubt it.

The support and knowledge I receive here is going to get me to 125 and keep me there.  Thanks so much everyone!

Congratulations Tonya.  You have done a great job.

It has been worth it to me too.  If for no reason than being able to play with my little granddaughters without losing my breath.  Getting in the floor and back up is so much easier now.  I am so thankful for this opportunity.

I bet you will be to 125 before you know it!!

Linda, I haven't seen my GS since before surgery.  I am looking forward to that aspect.  I did, however, work in the yard all day Saturday and Sunday with DH and that hasn't happened in years!  I did noticed that weight loss doesn't equal fitness.  I need to hit the gym.  I am so sore!

Thank you for posting this. This was a concern of mine and you all eased my concerns.  It may only be 50 lbs now but why wait until I need to loose 100 or 200.  Congrats to you and I hope all works as well for me!
