Good Morning. Would like a long walk on the beach

...without the crowds.  I think maybe the Outer Banks in late August may be just the ticket. Most of the kids have gone back to school and maybe most folks have already taken their vacations. I long for a place I can walk and hunt for shells. Do those beaches even exist any more?  Sigh...one can dream.

I hope everyone has a good Friday and an awesome weekend. What's on your mind this morning?

Love, love the Outerbanks! I like to stay in Duck or Southern shores. The sound side is my favorite, right on the water and a short trip to the ocean side. Quiet and love having our own pool to bask in the rays or read. The beach there is great, jus****ch out for little ghost crabs is you go real early or late, they are funny to watch run like mad across the sand.

Looking forward to a 3 day weekend. First motorcycle run on sunday, I will only go if the weather is nice.

I think I am getting too old for 12 hour shifts. The past 2 days were rough and I feel like someone beat me up this morning. So here's to some protein coffee and a couple of tylenol and hopefully I will be off and running!

I've never been to the Outer Banks.  That part of the country is one I've haven't explored.  Was at Myrtle Beach 10 years or so ago...

Yes - I WILL be walking on a beach tomorrow.  Heading to West Palm Beach for my much deserved break and vacation.  Maybe I'll find that rich Cabana boy and just stay .

Work is going to be a pain today.  Why is it when you would like a nice, easy transition into your vacation - it suddenly has become hectic and everything is an emergency?  They've even "kiddingly" threatened to cancel it - I don't think so!!

Thanks to dh's extremely fair skin, we'd have to walk VERY early in the morning or alsmost at dark...

We lived within 20 mins of the beach (near Southport/Wilmington area) for 2 years and went once. And that was during a friend's visit and that was up at the Outer Banks area.

We're odd...we prefer the mountains.

We had some serious thunderboomers roll thru here last night...put on a wild show. It was still raining when dh attempted to take the puppies out...they hate rain. But it's warming up and the sun is out now.

I'm a mountain person as well.  But still have a lot of trouble with being fair skinned with all the sun.  I hope to get to the Rockies this year, but there have been health issues with my relatives, so I may not make it.

I think I will need more than a walk at the beach.  Maybe a couple of weeks and some fruity rum drinks.  DH and I are actually planning a trip to the beach for two weeks after Labor Day.  After the kids are back in school.

My Dad is on my mind this morning.  I spent some time with him over the past week.  He's 85.  I'm starting to see a definite decline in his health.  It hearts my heart.  His mind is still there, but physically, he's declining and he knows it.  I'm trying to figure out ways I can spend more time with him despite my limited vacation time.

I haven't been around much because of my travel schedule.  We met my Dad and siblings in Tucson last weekend.  DH and I were in Dayton Tues and Wed for a promotion ceremony.  A good friend became a general.  I'm headed to CT for work on Sunday.  I try to keep up with reading, but I haven't been able to post or respond much.

Happy Friday -- I have a massage scheduled tomorrow.  After all the plane rides, my shoulders need it.

Kay, I am sorry about your dad...I understand. My daddy is 84 (will be 85 in Jan) and isn't doing that well either...he's slowed down greatly and is having memory issues heading to dementia.

HUGS!!!

I am sooooo glad it is Friday!!!

I have been longing for the beach.  I don't even care if there are crowds there, just let me go!!  We decided not to go this year because we are saving for our Disney trip around Thanksgiving where my entire family is going to go and share a house(very interesting)....  I'm thinking I might have to make a weekend run to the beach I feel like I really need it and deserve it.

I've never been to the Outer Banks.  I want to go one day - maybe when I retire.

Work today, atleast it is a short day. We get off at 4pm today.  I have a lot to get done in this short day... need to get busy.

Happy Friday everyone.

Heading to NC in 40 days. Yes we're counting! Cannot wait. We are going to take a catamaran cruise out of Beaufort and eat shrimp til I'm pink!!! . Cannot wait to be on the beach. The condo we rent is awesome. Need to figure out how to get our stuff to our spot on the beach more easily. May be some lighter chairs in our future!!! YAY THE BEACH!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with the water component - but for me, rather than beach walking, I want to be out in the middle of the lake on the boat, just soaking up sun and warmth like a cat while reading. I don't care if DH is there fishing, I just want to be out where it's quiet and I can see green trees.
