Good appointment with surgeon (I think)

I had my appointment with my surgeon this morning.  He's very nice and thinks I'm a good candidate for the verticle sleeve.

I met with the PA and she went over all the things I need to take care of prior to them sending the packet over to surgery, but I have to take my sleep apnea test first. She said I have other co-morbidities (sp?) but if I have sleep apnea, it's a guarantee that I will be approved.  I also have an appointment with the nutritionist on 6/8 and she will supervise my medical weight loss.

I can't get over how many tests I need to do prior to it, but I"ll get moving on them once I get that test set up.  I thought it would have a date for it, we requested 2 weeks ago.  Feh!

If all goes well (fingers crossed) surgery will happen in early October (they said September but I'm planning a birthday bash for my mom's 70th birthday).

Good luck with all your tests.  It is a long process, but very necessary for the safest outcome for you.

Thanks! He remembered your hubby too!  No DS for me though, he said I'm not big enough for one. That's the first time anyone ever told me I wasn't big enough for anything!

Sounds like everythings going great!

I HATE tests (especially if you have to drink something) so I was dreading this part but I think I was so excited about having the surgery that I just breezed through everything without a worry.

I thought waiting 6 months would be horrible but I feel really blessed that I had to do the 6 month diet requirement because finding this site and taking advantage of that time to prepare myself has been been a big part of my success.

I think so too.  I just don't want to rush through it, but was amazed at all the steps needed.  I'm lucky it's an excellent hospital - #1 in NYC so it will be fine.
