Sounds like you're doing great. If you get shaky from lack of food, have something high protein and low carb..like a hard boiled egg or luncheon meat. Stay busy! :)

Can you have protein?  A protein drink would give you some energy and you wouldn't feel so drained and shaky.  I only had to do clear liquids the day before surgery and I thought I was going to starve until around 3pm, then it went away and I was fine.  Do drink lots before  until whatever time they say to stop.  Broth is actually one of the best things because it gives you sodium.  You want to be extra hydrated before surgery.  You will have an easier time with the IV.  Don't worry how much you lose not, it will be falling off you soon enough.

Good luck with your liquid diet.  It was tough for me.  I had to do 1 1/2 weeks.  3 shakes and 1 lite meal or 4 shakes.  The day before surgery was clear liquid only.

I had to add mix my shakes with milk and added some fruit I just got really shaky feeling and my blood sugar was dropping.

You are almost there.  Congratulations on the stopping smoking!!  I know how hard that is.

keep up the good work...   i just quit smoking also, at first i used the e cigs, then the day of my surgery i just stopped that also.   it hasnt been as hard as i thought.  i told my self that this surgery would be a reward to myself for not smoking, it was also a birthday present..
congrats...Robin
