Checking in...
Hi Everyone!
It's been a very long time since I last posted. I'm still in recovery mode and have been fighting bouts of depression on and off. I really need to start reaching out more when I get in those moods instead of withdrawing. Anyway...
Like I said, I'm still in recovery mode. My surgeon, husband and mom are always reminding me that it'll be roughly a year before my abdomen is completely healed. Yes, the incisions are closed on the outside, but still healing up on the inside. I have to remind myself that the last incision, where my abdominal drain was, just closed up in the beginning of July. I do periodically experience some mild pain and discomfort at my incision sites. For that reason, coming off of my pain patch is taking much longer than I had hoped. I am now on the second lowest dosage prescribed though. So there is progress. Patience has never been one of my stronger traits, but this is forcing me to be that way.
On a couple of good notes, I have lost almost 70 pounds as of last weekend's weigh-in. However, I have been sitting at about the same weight (give or take a couple of pounds) for about a month now. I'm not sure if my body is saying it's happy where it's at or if I've hit a plateau. I guess I'll see if there's any loss come this weekend's weigh-in. Also, I can now wear some of my daughter's t-shirts - and she's almost 12 years old! It's great! Eventually I have to get myself some new clothes because I've just about run out of clothes that still fit. My 19-year-old son and my husband both have fun giving me hugs and saying, "Mommy's so petite." That always brings a huge smile to my face.
Well, I've got to get my day started. My daughter has a doctor's appointment at 9:30 this morning and she takes FOREVER to get herself ready. Take care!

Good to see you!
Hey, don't beat yourself up about the scale--try to visit it less often. ;)

good to see you back with us. Slow downs are normal for the end of the journey. Sounds like you have been doing great by losing 70lbs already. Hopefully, the pain will be over soon and you can get off you pain meds. I think they just slow everything down. We do a weekly weigh in on Sundays, feel free to join in. Sometmes only weighing once a week keeps the scale from dominating our lives.
Have a good day.

So Glad you dropped by to give us an update!!! 70 lbs....awesome!!! Your body is probably just taking a rest. After I lost around 75 (my first personal goal) I plateaued for awhile and I increased my Protein drinks and almost instantly the scales started moving again and I dropped 10 pounds in a short amount of time.
