I Survived My First Week

I am exhausted but I did it.  I did 4 ten hour days.  Kicked my ass.  I haven't worked outside my house for over a decade.  It was kind of fun getting dressed up.  I haven't really been into clothes but now I can see how people can get into them when you have other people that actually see you in them.  The dress code is business casual except on weekends you can wear jeans and I will be working weekends so I won't have to get too many new clothes if I don't want to.  I have actually been wearing make up, too.  In fact I have bought some new make up because it has been so long.  I found it doesn't really take that long to get ready even with putting make up on.  I used to never leave the house without make up. The job isn't hard physically but a lot to learn.  My head and neck pain has been terrible but I guess I am just learning to live with it and not let it affect who I am and how I act.
Now that I have finished with training I will start my regular hours.  I'll be working Saturday, Sunday and Monday, which is great for me.  I don't really have anything else to do and my boyfriend works 6 days a week.  Plus I don't have to deal with traffic on weekends.
I have been bringing in a bunch of food and things to drink.  It looks like I am moving in there but I want to make sure there is enough food for me to eat every few hours.  They don't have a problem with people eating at their desks or getting up to ge****er or using the bathroom.  They are pretty relaxed there and everyone has been very nice.  I really think I am going to like this job.  It feels like a good fit.  I am so glad to be among the employed.  It feels good to be around adults and it takes a lot of pressure off of me financially.
I haven't told anyone that I had WLS but I did mention to some people I was talking to that I used to weigh a lot more then I do but no one really seemed to think it was a big deal.
Another interesting thing.  Yesterday I ran into a few people I haven't seen for many years and I was surprised that they recognized me.  I feel like I have aged so much and look so different and whenever I would see people I hadn't seen for a while they seemed surprised at my appearance and not in a good way so it was good to run into people that didn't act like I looked so different.  Maybe things are starting to redistribute.  I don't feel as bad about my appearance as I had been.  I still wouldn't mind putting on a few pounds but I feel much better about myself.

hurray for you and your reentry into the working world.  Sounds like lots of positives and I love your bright attitude.  I've been missing you and wondering how it was going.  Thanks for posting.

Glad you had such a GOOD week...I know you were nervous going back into the work force. And glad you can eat/drink/potty when you need to. That is a good thing.

LOL, on the makeup...I NEVER got the hang of wearing makup...in fact the last time I did was almost a decade ago. But I am rethinking that as I have deep dark circles around my eyes...looks almost like I've been hit. :) I think it's time for me to get a lesson on how to put on makeup...I am makeup impaired!

SL... there are great products out that will take much of that dark circling away (  pretty permanently if U use them long enough ) ..  K vitamin based cream.  ( K vitamin cream also makes tiny  red capillaries and varicose veins on the legs  disappear or be minimized )  ...  Also applying a simple very light colored   coverstick  to the darkest areas after that will help a lot .

I don't go  out without sunscreen , undereye coverup , powder  and often blush , eyelash ,  eyebrow stuff a simple eyeliner and lipgloss....

It all takes less than 5 minutes and you look and feel SO much better ! It's  kind of like brushing Ur hair .  If you don't wear mascara you dont have to take  anything OFF either ... I just thicken my lashes with a clear  growth serum instead  and use my usual face wash when I get home .

Any makeup counter person  will happily show you how to apply makeup ... just tell them you want to keep it REALLY  simple and natural ... and under 5 products total.

good luck !

Actually the Aveda Institute downtown will do makeup lessons not just application of makeup...it's just NOT in the budget right now.

I really prefer "bare faced" as even lotion feels goopy on my face. I hate anything there. I would prefer a ONE product solution at MOST.

In the last 45 years, the number of times I actually wore makeup can be counter on both hands and all but once, applied by others FOR me.

I don't even like CHAPSTICK!

So glad you had a good first week.  There is a lot to be said for a place you work to be considerate about your eating/bathroom habits!!  Mine is very flexible also and it is so helpful.

I love to go to Belk''s or somewhere like that every once in a while and have a makeover.  They do them for free.  Of course they want to see you something, but you don't have to buy it.  I usually can find about the same colors at Walmart.
