I have had the same experience, so I limit myself to rare occasions. It just isn't worth it.

I always love your honesty Price and it sounds like you have a good plan for the trip as well as the alcohol use.  I wasnt much of a drinker presurgery as I drank too mu*****ollege.  Havent tried since surgery as afraid of what my low tolerance may be plus I do not know if I dump and there is a lot of sugar in ETOH.

Have a great trip...you wll do great foodwise I am sure!  And you will be back in your routine when you get home.

Price, thanks for sharing this with us.  It is something we all need to be aware of.  Glad you have got a plan and realized you needed to make some changes.

I knew when I had the surgery I could not touch it.  My grandfather was a recovering alcholic and I watch my brother have the same problem with drugs and alcohol.  When I was younger, I indulged too much, but realized one day it had to stop or I was going down the same road and did not need to do that.  I know that I have no control if I start so it is none for me.

We are here for you if you need us!!  Hope you have a great trip.  I really enjoy looking at your cute pictures and reading about your trips.

My father was an alcoholic and I have always been pretty careful.  But it isn't so much the alcohol as the food that has driven me to this conclusion.  It is the alcohol calories PLUS the bad food calories that have driven me over the brink.

Thanks Price! This is a good reminder about the empty calories. I have a couple of  friends who always want to go out for a glass(s) of  wine. (I live only 10 minutes away from several wineries and breweries here in the Northwest) I'm 9 months out and have been very careful about partaking when we go. I've gotten very good at ordering a glass of sparkling water and asking for it in a wine glass. A couple of times I've ordered a glass of wine and nursed it all evening. That's not too hard because I've never been a big wine drinker. I'm lucky my friends understand - I wouldn't want to miss out on the girl time with my friends.
