What does willpower mean to you?  Without looking it up...how would you describe or define it?

Willpower, to me, means doing what you know you need to do over and over again even if it isn't fun or easy to do.

Good morning  Major !    ( I feel so  Honored to know U  !   U're like the world's   coolest   and hottest   chick lol   )

I'm having a HUGE  problem with bullying, sexism,  talking behind my back and deliberately undermining me  to get his MOJO   about  making art back !   by a little ( grant recipient  and class monitor CREEP )

He LITERALLY  follows me from class to class  ( TEN PLUS   HOURS A DAY!!! ) I  have to look at his   ugly face  and deal with his lying , sly ( LOUD  enough though for fifty people to hear him INCLUDING TEACHERS    who approve U ( or NOT )   for grants n scholarships ...  underhanded comments that abuse his position of authority ....  PLEASE tell me how best to deal with this

To me willpower TODAY  means taking CONTROL  of this siuation ... before it gets out of hand and allows my ( hard won clean ) reputation to be destroyed irrapairably .......

it means  NOT being a willing VICTIM but Actively getting this freeloading transparetly negative ammunition seeking slandering CREEP OUT of my classes ......I can't BELIEVE   he's following me around from class 2  class  gosh   I HATE him... and he hates me too and FEEDS  off of that ... he takes the easel NEXT to me or across from me ..... nd tries to detroy my reputation with the monitors and teachers ... the lowlife .....

I read an article not long ago about willpower.  It discussed it being like a muscle that you can exercise and make stronger.  I like that idea.  By exercising willpower over food temptations, we are making the next time easier because our willpower is stronger.  I definately find this true.  I can get into such a habit of grabbing a cookie (PB flourless) or piece of SF candy after a meal.  If it isn't there, I miss it for a day but then I am fine.  That initial bit of willpower makes the next day's need for willpower easier.

To me, willpower is having the ability to overcome what my mind wants to do and do what I know is the right thing.  I feel so good when my willpower wins.

Some days are a lot easier than others!!

To me willpower is commitment to my health.  Positive self talk.  Thinking through what I will eat today in the morning and not deciding on whims what would taste best.  It's having a plan and sticking to it, most of the time.

And when I screw up (which I do), being a good friend to myself and not using shame and self loathing to throw in the towel.

So I must also be honest with myself and say that will power did not work for me pre-sleeve.  I needed the sleeve to put this action into place.  For me, without the tool of the sleeve, will power was an exercise in failure.

So I am greatful for the tool and I recommit to working it daily.

Willpower to me is doing something due to sheer force of will and I actually don't believe in relying on it. I think you have to set your life up so that doing what you think you should is easier than not doing it and also you have to make certain behaviors an ingrained habit.

Because willpower isn't infinite and the more you use it, the less of it you've got. So my motto is: Don't waste willpower on the little crap!
