Busy, busy, busy!

Dh and I are going to be very busy the next two weeks....

This past Wednesday, Tennessee started early voting...as newbies to early voting, we were in the "hold" pot. We started yesterday and now will work all the way thru. A NICE infusion to the bottom line. We are working 14 days (not including Sunday cause the polling places are closed that day)

Early voting closes here on the 1st of Nov...we then have a 5 day break before Election Day.

I can keep liquid with me all day long but eating except in very short breaks just don't happen...in fact, dh never got a chance to eat yesterday...we had a huge breakfast abput 8AM but it was close to 12 hours later before he got to eat again! And he gets migraines if he doesn't eat. Yes, we've already had a really good breakfast and will have another before we head out.

So if I am not here much, that's where I am....helping get voters thru the polls!

good for you.  I worked at a headquarters last night and will do more before Election Day.  I plan on voting early here because we can have very long lines on Election Day.

There are about 8 polling places open in this county...we are working at the busiest! We did over 1800 Wed, over 2000, yesterday, and over 2100 today!

TN statewide has voted more than 228,245 voters in just TWO days (they haven't added today yet)—more than 100,000 voters each day.

And in spite of so many voters, people are only waiting in line for about 10 mins and that is in the mornings to get in the door...once in, we are getting them thru very quickly. We have FIVE master controllers with 8 booths attached to each one..We'd have more but no more room in the building.

We were all getting punch drunk by the end of the day from being there so long!

Our poll lines are pretty short so I will probably wait until the big day.  I was thinking about going early just so I could stop thinking about it.  I'm kindof confused this year....too many people giving their opinions.

Hope you enjoy working the polls.  Our early voting has started also, but you can only do it at our courthouse.  I think I'm going to vote next week and get it done..

Can you take something to nibble on in a bag or something just so you don't get sick?

Linda, yesterday dh and I stopped in Target...I got us some beef sticks...and while they are high in sodium, they are a decent, quick, handy protein. I keep several in my pocket to nibble on thru the day.

Yesterday, we were both sitting down and both of us got a lunch break. Today, I was on my feet all day, dh was sitting but we still got a break.

They do have a pretty good setup for us in the break room since we are using empty buildings in various places. The rent is the right price tho...FREE! Someone brought in microwaves, we have a ho****er pot and a coffee pot. And we get all sorts of nibbles...but most are not DS friendly...they are things like cookies, donuts, etc. I made some of the Paula Deen Flourless Peanut Butter cookies for the two of us.

We are doing okay but glad it's Sun tomorrow and we don't have to be there. LOL
