Hi Jody I went to a Dr that has actually researched the problem of RH in the post RNY patient! I am on a medication that slows the digestion of carbs, therefore stopping the spike (high) in blood sugar. It is that spike that causes the RH body to produce too much insulin causing the severe drop in blood sugar. Do you have RH too?
High 250/Consult Weight 245/Surgery 205/Now 109
Height 5'4.5" BMI 18.4
In maintenance since June 2009
Yes I do. It's not severe and I can control it by my diet (which helps keep me in check), but DO know what not to eat/drink and mix with other foods (for the most part). Once in awhile it will surprise me, but I'm afraid I'm starting to have it happen more and more now - just mini drops - enough where I know I'm not feeling too good, and when I think I'm following "my rules".
I may need you to share the name of the medication that you're on for future reference.
