Menus and Miles December 5th (for Roz)
I don't mind the doctor myself, but the dentist is another story. Each year I get more twitchy about it. I'll probably need to be medicated soon to have any real work done. I can't stand the instruments in my mouth.. UGH *shudder*
But getting everything done all in one day is a good strategy. Cross all that stuff off your list and forget about it for another year!
I too dread being weighed in the afternoon... I guess it will never go away - and if it does, then does that mean we don't care anymore? So - its a good thing! I betcha you found it wasn't as bad as you thought...
I went to the Podiatrist yesterday and the nurse led me into a room and I'm thinking "OMG - NO!!! they aren't going to weigh me are they!!" LOL...
Glad your coworker can feel safe talking to you - and we definitely know what its ike telling someone before-hand...

Hi Lin! Good to see you!
Yea - night time is worse for me. I was bored to tears today at work and ended up grazing... I chose pretty good for me things, but still...

After backsliding into a dieting mindset and self-sabotaging (fear of change? surgery? both?) for a few weeks I got back on track last week after meeting with my nutritionist and telling her that I needed to reboot things. She asked me if I wanted to do a partial liquid diet to try to (relatively) quickly lose the rest of the weight I need to get surgery approved and I said sure since I already drink a shake for breakfast. More restrictive things aren't that difficult, at least at first. So 2 protein shakes a day, some fruit (not super sugary ones though) and veggies and lean meat for dinner. the plan she gave me is for diabetics and so far it's not bad at all.
today:
B: Premier RTD vanilla protein shake (the ones from Costco)
L: Isopure zero carb RTD grape
snack: banana
snack 2: red velvet cupcake*
D: chicken salad and green beans
So the cupcake, here's the deal. I got a delivery at work of a dozen fancy cupcakes as a holiday present/thank you from the daughter of one of my clients. I'm a therapist and work for a public agency with the severely mentally ill, her dad is one of my clients. She's his legal guardian and I usually spent more time on the phone with her and other people trying to coordinate things than with him directly, because in his mind he isn't ill and doesn't need that much help. We can't take personal gifts but can take things for the whole team. Which is why I guess she had a dozen of these things surprise delivered. So I ate one cupcake and gave the rest to my boss, and sent out an email letting everyone know that we had been given this gift and where to find them. And I feel okay about it, it wasn't one of those huge oversized cupcakes, and when I thank her I can answer honestly that yes I ate one, and it was DELICIOUS!
Somehow there are 4 holiday functions through work that I am supposed to attend. And I'm not. I'm attending 2 of them. The first one was today, I skipped it because it's a big one and there's lots of 'try this' etc. I'm attending the smaller ones with the people I work with daily who know what I'm doing. And they're supportive, I'm very lucky. One of my coworkers walked by my office yesterday while I was drinking my lunch and fist pumped at me. She had told me that two of her neices had RNY and are doing really well and she knows that I will too.
Wow - glad to see you've got the great attitude to make this successful - AND your coworkers are on board with you! That will make a big difference down the road (and now).
Sounds like you're doing well - keep with the program and your surgery will be here before you know it!
