Hey All,  I would like to know what kitchen tool/accessory was most valuable to you from post-op on?  I have put a few things on my Christmas list for Santa like a Magic Bullet for mixing and pureeing (sp)...I received a thermometer with my starter pack from Unjury...I have measuring spoons and cups...but I am missing something???  Maybe a food scale?

Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated as I approach my approval then surgery...I really like to be as prepared as possible before I go to the hospital.

Several Blender Bottles for on-the-go protein shakes, vitamin sorter cases, and I like my small bowls and plates.

mmmm got the bottles....got the small bowls and plates...currently I have only a single (day of the week) sorter....what kind of vitamin sorter do you use?  Something like Day of the Week and then broken down by say... AM Noon PM  something like that?  Maybe I could check out my local CVS Pharmacy to see what options are out there...

Thank Gina

I have to take so many I have 4 Day of the Week sorters and I write AM, PM, calcium and everything else on them. I have a little container from Vitamin Shoppe I take to work for 4 daily calcium doses and everything else. But what you're describing is about right, I think.

I'll take a look and see what's out there...I own a few Sharpies...so I guess I could modify whatever I find to suit whatever my needs might or may become...

Thanks again.

I do not use a blender bottle, I use a wire wisk, a small one.  I also use a small sieve that fits in a large drinking glass to strain my protein shakes.  I like this system-less foam, no lumps.  When I am mixing into warn (not HOT) coffee, I don't need the sieve.

ok...great... got the wire wisk...large and small...got a metal sieve that I currently use to strain the fryer oil from the French fries to save it for the next use....(FYI...I don't eat the fries any more...just the burger on a plate with a bit of mustard...I will try the lettuce wrap tho).

Thanks for the tips...I just had my noon protein drink as dessert...yuck...it had lumps...lol   won't be doing that anymore

I bought a pack of those plastic baby spoons.  I still use them when eating snacks like SF pudding or my applesauce to keep my bites small and slow down my eating. -- eating fast was always a bad habit of mine.

I also have one of those flat scales that you can put your container on and zero out then add your food.  During maintenance, it's still amazing to me how small a 3 oz portion of meat really is--not that I could eat much  more.  I use it for  recipes that call for something in oz or lbs.  -- also use it to measure my dry fertilizer for my citrus trees--a very versatile tool.

The most important one I have is the salad size china plates that I inherited from my Mother. The plate is smaller than a regular dinner plate so you put much less on it and still feel like you have a full plate.

LOL Liz...and you feel like you are eating a special meal each time you eat on a china plate.  I love that...
