sipping vs. small gulps
It's best to follow the rules whether you think it's not hurting you or not especially since you are a newbie. Our bodies change so many times through the process of losing and maintaining. It's good not to have extra habits to deal with.

I agree. But my rules say nothing about stopping drinking 30 minutes before eating. I was told by my surgeon (and have verified this from many different sources on the internet) tha****er begins to exit the pouch almost as soon as it enters it. Therefore, when you begin eating, tha****er is already gone. Thus, you are NOT filling up on liquids rather than protein-rich food, and there is no liquid in your pouch to push the food out. At least, according to my doc. Each doc has their own rules.
