A New Favorite Hot Protein Drink

I've found myself getting tired of my old protein drinks and it has been more of a chore to get them in.  I guess years of protein coffee can get old.  So I have been trying to find ways to spice things up without spending a lot of money.  I use Body Fortress  because it is the most affordable and I have to watch my pennies.  I find the taste alright, nothing to write home about but not repulsive, either.  I have had other brands that I liked a lot more but not enough to justify the extra cost.

So I was craving some hot chocolate the other day and I thought I would just warm up some milk and mix in the protein powder and see what that was like.  Not terrible but not great, either.  Then I remembered I had some sugar free Peppermint Mocha creamer in the fridge.  I have heard people talk about how much they like their mint cookie protein mix so I added some in there and I was in love.

Unfortunately the sugar free Peppermint Mocha is seasonal and the time came I could not find a bottle of it anywhere.  I wasn't happy until I saw that they came out with a new sugar free flavor, Sweet Italian Cream.  It is the best I have had.  I added that to my warm protein drink and it was wonderful.  I am running low on the chocolate protein powder so I decided to see how it was in the vanilla.  I warmed up a cup of milk, mixed it with a scoop of vanilla protein powder and added some sugar free Sweet Italian Cream and I was in heaven!  It is such a treat that I am having 2 a day sometimes, along with my other protein.  I was so sick of the protein drinks that I was choking down one a day and now I can have 2 with no problem, sometimes even 3.  Another thing I do is mix the warm chocolate protein and add in a cup of coffee and the creamer.  The best protein coffee drink I have had.

The same thing happened to me.  I used to LOVE my protein coffee, but it got to the point where I couldn't stomach it anymore.  The smell started to bother me too.  So, I went without my protein drinks - and my hair started falling out again, skin getting icky, etc.  I wanted to drink just "regular" coffee... and I too love my flavored creamers.  But, one thing I DON'T do in SF is my creamers - never have.. Just don't care for the taste of them.

So I added in a protein hot chocolate and love them.  I use something like a diet swiss miss, mix water with it and add my chocolate protein - it really creams it up!

You really DO have to mix things up to find others that you love!  I LOVE the peppermint paddy SF syrup and need to get more!

I used to warm milk up and put in dark cocoa and splenda - I never thought of trying the creamers with them!  Definitely will!!!

Thanks ladies, I am going to try a hot chocolate protein drink this morning and I think I have York peppermint Patti in the fridge. I am getting so tired of the same ole thing. My kitchen counter is littered with protein powders and most I don't like.

I was looking for something new and went to GNC and got some of their chocolate carmel which I remembered likeing in the past.  Well, it was ok  but not great.  I really like the way Matrix is creamy in shakes and coffee.  so I have been mixing my matrix, chocolate or vanilla with the chocolate carmel in my coffee.  I also do it in hot chocolate with a 25 cal swiss miss, powdered milk, protein powder and water, like 30oz in my big blender bottle.  the only place I can get SF syrups is world bazarre but they don't have many.  Peppermint is one they don't have.  I may have to try some of the SF creamers.  I have stayed away because I was thinking the carbs or calories where high even though they were SF.

I tried mixing my chocolate protein with decaf flavored coffee--chocolate macadamian//was really good and a nice change.  Also liked the coconut SF syrup.
