Good Morning. I hear my mother calling. Gotta go!

Do you remember when you used your mother to get you out of not-so-desirable situations?  Do you have any excuses now to help you through your weight loss challenges?  What are some of the things that work, and perhaps, don't work? Anything you are thinking of trying, like having someone call you on your cell phone to get you outa there?

The 2 that I have used are: 1) I'm low carbing, where's the protein?  2) If I don't get out and walk several times a day my back locks up.

I think I need to revitalize the walking for my back excuse.

When people are pushing carbs (gluten in particular) on me at work I just tell them it gives me bad gas, which is true, and they leave me alone.  Most people at work know I had bariatric surgery.  You know, I have such an aversion to gluten based foods now.  It is weird, I have no desire to eat bread.  I go for a little rice or potato after I have eaten my protein.  They don't give me the gas that bread does.

I need some really good excuses...  It used to be that it would make me sick, but now I think I could eat pretty much anything in smaller amounts and not get sick.

I know exercising makes me feel better and really helps with the stress.  I need to use this one for stress more often!!

My mother has dementia and sometimes she calls me 5 or 6 times a day to tell me the same story so if it's not important and doesn't need my attention I always have to "make dinner" or Don needs me to help him.

When eating out and I don't order much or I order from the kids menu the waitress usually always looks at me funny and DH always speaks up and says "she eats like a bird".  He is so sweet.....

When we eat with friends I do my best to not make a fuss but usually we don't hang with very many people that don't know I had surgery.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

The people I work with give me a hard time about how small my lunch is sometimes so I tell them "I'm going to eat the rest later" and that seems to shut them up.
