Things are working they way I had hoped....
So while I didn't lose a lot of pounds this past week, I looked back at my chart and see that in my first month after WLS I have lost 20 pounds and that equals 15.63% of what I need to lose...so I think I am doing really well. If I look at my loss including pre-surgery...I have lost a total of 56 lbs and that works out to about 43.75% of what I need to lose....wow...it looks like I am almost half way there at just 5 weeks out....
I am hoping my Dr. will release me to do full exercising when I go in for my 6 week check up on the 26th. In the meantime I will continue to walk and watch the pounds and inches melt away....
Just a reality check...this is not easy...I had to fight head hunger yesterday while snuggled under a blanket trying to keep warm...but....I CAN DO HARD THINGS....

Thanks Mandy....I feel great...but it isn't easy when my head hunger wants to try to control things...good thing I am a control freak myself...lol

Thanks Linda...drinking a chocolate/peanut butter protein shake is exactly how I beat it off....I keep it in my "right" mind that before I give into hunger get something to drink...if after you have had 16oz or so and you are still hungry, well then give in and have something on your list of good snacks....so far I have had to give in twice and I had some oatmeal protein cookies I make (someone gave me the recipe from this OH site) on hand. I Love them....but I only make 5 at a time so I am not tempted beyond the allowed amount which is 5 (very small) cookies...but so far I can only do 2 to 2 and 1/2 at a time.

Sounds like you doing great!!! Usually a Protein drink works for me but I usually always keep Jerky or Beef sticks around for those hungry moments.
I would love to have that recipe and how you break it down for making 5. I wish I could figure out how to make a good ginger cookie.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

Here is the one I make....found it on one of martitalinda 's posts
No bake Oatmeal cheesecake protein cookies .... 1/4 cup oatmeal dry (not instant) ... sprinkle nutmeg ... sprinkle cinnamon...add a scoop protein powder (I use Vanilla flavored) ... and a packet of sweetener of choice (I go without this as it is sweet enough from the protein powder) add one ounce cream cheese ... mix well ... (OPTIONAL) raisins or SF chocolate chips... separate in clumps ... mash or round and viola ... awesome and delicious and filling high protein low calorie nutritious treat ... DELICIOUS!!!
I use my fingers to mix well and it can get very sticky if the cream cheese is really soft...it is hard to mix if the cream cheese is on the hard side...
