Menus and Miles Friday Feb. 22nd
Hi everyone! I'm new to this site. I had my RNY on 1/28/13. I am currently on soft foods, and I still struggle to find ways to get my protein in; although most days I do meet goal. I like how you all post your daily menus here. I hope to join in more now that I have made my way over to this forum.
Here's my day
B: Chocolate protein shake
S: 2 oz greek yogurt
L: 1 oz oven roasted deli turkey
2 oz greek yogurt
S:
D: Baked talapia and green beans
S: SF Jello
That's my day!
Welcome and Congrats on your new beginning!!!
This is just my opinion but with the RNY we don't absorb enough nutrition from food to get all of the Protein total we need. When I was early out I put Protein powder in everything! I bought unflavored WHEY Protein (or flavored) and put it in my drinks, Jello, soups, puddings, yogurts etc.
Even at 4 years out I only count the WHEY Protein that I drink or add to food.
Sounds like you made good choices!

Thanks, Roz! I wanted to ask you about your Syntrax Lemon Tea. Do you add it to your iced tea, or just add water? I am looking for something as an alternative to my my Unjury Chocolate Splendor (which I love), and I love iced tea.
Syntrax makes a ton of flavors. They are kind of like crystal lite. I mix all of my Protein drinks with water because I don't want the extra carbs and calories that come with milk. The Nectars are 90 calories, 0 carbs, 0 fat, no sugar and 23 grams of Protein.
The Lemon Tea isn't really tea. I think they call it that because of the color and it does have a slight Lemon taste. I like it because it is a mild flavor that I enjoy plain with lots of crushed ice or I can add crystal lite or MIO to it for a change.
You can get a sample pack from the company who makes it. http://www.si03.com/reg_index.htm It costs $13.99 for 12 full servings (includes shipping).
Syntrax also sells Matrix. I love the Mint Cookie. That's my breakfast every day.
Vitalady.com sells 100's of samples from all different companies. I buy all of my specialty supplements from her too.
It's good to buy samples so you can see what you like before you buy a whole tub.

Hi Roz,
Hope you are feeling better.
No birthday party tomorrow. I had to take DGD#2 back to the doctor this morning. Strep throat is back again. Evidently the first antibiotic is not clearing it up. She had fever, coughing, rash and just felt really bad. They tested her for strep & mono, if they were negative they were going to do flu, but strep came back positive. So no cake decorating today, spent most of it with her so DD could work atleast 1/2 a day. I just put the cakes back in the freezer and will do them next week.
We are having company tonight. Our nephew and his family is coming up from Florida to spend the weekend with us. I'm pretty sure they will not want to go see her!! The doctor said she was very contagious - hope we don't get it too!!
B: Protein Decaf Coffee
S: Decaf Coffee
S: Lemon Tea Protein Drink
L: 3 chicken strips w/honey mustard sauce
S: Lemon Tea Protein Drink
D: No idea
S: Protein Hot Chocolate
Vitamins: Morning & Afternoon Done
Water/Fluids: 105 ozs so far
Miles: None

It has turned into a terrible cold. I hate colds worse than the flu!!
AWE....I hope your DGD starts feeling better soon. That's too bad about the party. Was this her party or the other DGD?
We are having the 1 yr. olds party tomorrow. He loves Elmo so I guess that is the theme.
Is it warm where you live? If I lived in FL it would be hard to get me to leave...LOL I booked our flights for FL today. We decided to not rent a house this time. The whole family isn't going this time so I can't see paying the $200.00 extra. Staying at a hotel will be a lot less work for me too.
Sounds Good Linda!

It was her birthday party tomorrow. DGD#1 had her party last weekend. She will have her Minnie Mouse party next Saturday hopefully.
I can't believe he is already 1!! Wow time flies. Seems like just the other month he was born...
It is not warm to me, but compared to the north I guess it would be hot to some of you-LOL. It was 62 this morning and has dropped all day I think it is around 45 now and raining and storming. Suppose to do it all day tomorrow too.
Linda
AWE...is she sad her party was canceled?
62 sounds wonderful! It's 34 here now but we have had freezing rain all day. My DD#2 couldn't even make it to her house. She lives on a brick street and it was a sheet of ice. Her and the 2 yr. old had to walk up the hill. She was so upset when she called me. I about fell on my butt on my brother's gravel driveway. I felt like I was ice skating.
