Good Morning. Adjust your fire
Yesterday I was brought up short on a big project I'm working on and now I'm adjusting fire. That means I'm having to adjust my direction and distance to get my shot group in the right place at the right time. I skipped over a part that I know in my head but the "powers that be" want to see. So, back I go. {sigh}
Don't be afraid to adjust your fire. You see on these boards all the time about going "back to basics". Don't be afraid to try it. Measure your food, count your carbs, count your protein, record your fluid intake, etc. I think that recording and tracking may help. We can get focused on the tracking and maybe help ourselves get "back to basics".

I'm doing the same/different thing with my new pony. She had a very successful career as a pair pony but now we are asking her to work as a single. Big difference. Readjust, accept what she knows, teach the new skills.
I do it all the time with food. Start over, back to basics, decarb. I guess there are 2 other alternatives. One would be to not care and gain the weight back. Not an option. The other would be to stay on the path to begin with. I seem to not have much luck with that either. A glass of wine, a piece of bread, desert. So, every few days, or once a week, or whatever, it is back on track, back to basics, high protein, low carb.

I'm adjusting my fire pretty much all the time... Right now it is with my food and the direction I had been going which was the wrong way. Really trying to stay focused and on the right path. Just taking one a day at a time. Finally had a very successful day yesterday.
I really think posting on the Menus and Miles helps me, even though I don't come back on line and update at night sometimes which is when I really do bad.
Hope everyone has a great day today!! I think the rain has finally stopped here.

Adjusting you fire...what a great way to look at hit. Sometimes I put too much fire under whatever I'm cooking and it drys up, gets scorched, and sticks to the pan. If I am patient and follow the recipe (plan), lower the flame, and take my time everything turns out just like I want it to.
When I was dieting I would have a bad day that turned into several bad days or I had the I blew it start over Monday mentality. Now if I start having a bad day I try to adjust (turn down the fire) as soon as I realize what I'm doing and usually there is no harm done.

HI Gina
I should start tracking again. I don't feel I'm doing bad, but the scale isn't budging. I actually felt pretty good this morning (no bloating, etc) and the scale was the same... I have no bad food in the house, except for popcorn. I do eat "good" carbs, but know they can still add up. I made a crockpot stew and 2 different kinds of chili to have in the fridge for me to eat while off my feet.
I know with me sitting on my arse for the next few weeks it will be HARD to NOT gain. And that will be my goal. I would consider myself pretty sedentary as it is, but I still get to walk around the house, out to the mailbox, to the store, etc. I'll have none of that... so I have to be very very careful.
Surgery is tomorrow morning at 7:30. Getting storm Rocky now and through tomorrow, so hopefully the Dr will be able to make it in. I have to be there at 6:30 - my daughter is taking me. We're getting freezing rain now...
