I'm not really too sure what math she was using, but my nutritionist today told me that if I got to 150 lbs I would have lost 100% of my excess weight. That sounds weird to me. I think she was guiding me to not get my hopes up about going below 170 lbs. Frankly, I don't really care as long as I'm comfortable and feeling fine. But it *would* be fun to get to 140 and say that I am half of who I was. ;-)
I told her my goal was between 130-150 and she felt it was more likely I would get to 150-180. I think perhaps they tell us that, because in their eyes we are a success at 50%.
I have asked on here before about other people's experiences and it seems a lot of "lightweights" have manages to lose their excess weight!
Welcome to the group as well - I like the drama free zone

*I* was told I would be doing great if I got to 160 (I got to 121 before bouncing back some). I've settled in about 145 which is a good weight for me as long as I ignore the flappy bat wings and muffin top altho I would love to be back in the 130's.
During your weight loss phase...go as LOW as your body will let you.

It really depends on your surgery but the typical weight loss window is about 2 years. And see...most LW's get to goal in the first year...but that doesn't mean we are done.
I hit my first goal 6 months after surgery...so I moved the goal. Met that one at 8 months. I stayed put for almost 5 months after that, then lost another 15 lbs. (8 of it due to jaw surgery). Then I bounced back 20. Working on staying PUT is a balancing act but IF I wanted to completely decarb, I probably could drop another 5ish lbs. But I was too skinny at my lowest. I feel better at 135/140. (my lowest was 121 for 10 mins).
As long as you do not go UNDERWEIGHT, keep losing as long in that first two years as you can.
