Roz, I like Quest protein. It's all whey but is only 11 grams protein per scoop. I got a variety pack with all their flavors. Also, I'm really liking the Premier Protein I won. The clear protein comes in fruit flavors and is 20 grams protein per bottle. No artificial flavors. It's 90 calories, 1 carb and 0 sugar. There's also chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, caramel and banana protein drinks from Premier Protein. They have 30 grams of protein.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the encouragement! I met with my therapist today and felt pretty ashamed to tell him I've only lost about 25lbs total for the past two months. He was very supportive and reminded me that I didn't have a number on the scale as my primary reason for having the surgery. My goal is to be healthy and fit and I'm on track for that.

Is the Mint Cookie really sweet? Premier protein drinks are too sweet for me and I'd love to find a flavored protein that I could mix with almond milk and have in the mornings.

That seems like an average loss rate to me. Great going - keep it up!
It's plain and you put it in water? Is it tasteless? So it I could it in ice tea? Oh, I just looked it up and it's flavored. I'm having trouble with fruit flavors.

Hi Jody!! Great seeing you post!!! I just can't give up my Protein Drinks. I'm afraid if I do I will over eat.
I just gave a girl at work my Syntrax Cherry. My tastes seem to be changing and I struggle getting fruity things down. I still love my Syntrax Mint Cookie but every once in awhile it would be nice to have something different.

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!
Happy Thursday!!!! I ordered some things from Macy's and I'm returning all but one thing because they are too big. I don't understand why clothing companies can't make their sizes the same across the chart. When it comes from the same company I think you should be able to order a small or a medium and know it's going to fit.

I did. I dropped my goal from 1000 calories to 500, averaging 690 for the month of May. I'm now focusing on dropping my carbs from 50 to 25. I've also significantly upped my exercise, but not in a way that would explain muscle weight gain, as it's mostly been walking. I went from 5000 steps/day goal for the post surgery month 1, to 7000/day often hitting over 10,000 a day in the past week or two. I'm also walking the steps at work, usually getting in about ten flights a work day.
Most of my steps are in the evening as I take my sister's dog for a long walk. I've been "jogging" bits and pieces but generally the pointer isn't needing to trot so I'm not sure it counts as jogging if the dog keeps walking.
