It's actually a bit of a brain bender for me that I'm going to keep going down. For years, I'd get to 189 and I'd feel so good about myself and I'd be able to say "This is a weight I was before and I can be happy here". Before, my weight gain. Before, my kids. Before, so many bounce backs. Then I'd get lazy with my choices and portion sizes and I'd start gaining. I always had this cut off of 205, where I'd start feeling bad about myself again.

It's surreal to me that this time I will continue to lose, like...I literally I have no choice right now. It's baffling. And wonderful and sometimes I find myself grinning for no other reason than the fact I like myself and I'm happy.

Can't wait for you to join the loser's bench with us too!

Bathing suits are so anxiety inducing! And after years of pretty much just not wearing one I had come to love Lands End suits and then all of a sudden I'm not buying the 1X-4X section anymore and I needed to know my bra size and it's just all too much! LOL.

This is so exciting!!! I'm like you, I can get into the 180s on my own, but staying there isn't possible without extreme measures. I can't WAIT!!!

LOL....I had to look up to see what tieks were!!!

Sounds like you are doing Awesome!!!!! I'm pretty sure you will be at the 180 mark by May! I struggle going into the Regular (Petite) size clothes. I remember walking around and around because I couldn't find something that I thought I could wear. I actually had a few panic attacks. It was so overwhelming!!!

Post Op RNY 11+ mos

Good chilly morning peeps! What crazy weather we have! Up and moving a little quicker this morning as I have to go for my one year blood draw this morning.

I ended up going for a good long walk at lunch yesterday (4K) and then another hike with the doggies last night, so I got some exercise in on my self declared day of rest! Guilt is a crazy thing eh!

Anyway, nothing for me yet, darn fasting....but once I get to work here's what will happen:

COFFEE!!

B - 4 oz chicken with sautéed veg

S - devilled eggs and 80 gr strawberries

L - tuna salad, cucumber/tomato/feta salad on the side

S - 3 oz leftover roast beef

D - shepperds pie

Totals - Cal 1000, carbs 48, protein 107

Have a great day, and stay warm!

Over 100 lbs lost! and 13 lbs below goal weight!

Topic: Celebrating a Milestone (and some NSVs)

I returned from a vacation to Savannah, GA Monday and was able to weigh in for the first time in a week on Tuesday morning. I'm down 43lbs since I started my pre-op diet 11 weeks ago and am now 1lb less than the day I got pregnant with my oldest child (who is going to be 11 next month!). With previous diet attempts I would very quickly bounce into the 180's only to start climbing again. I have about 11lbs to my average high school weight and beyond that I've never seen as an adult! Being only 9 weeks post op I am so excited by this!

Also; a couple of NSVs:

  • I traveled through four airports, six times and didn't buy a single food or drink. Not even when TSA threw out my yogurt and therefore my planned breakfast.
  • I lost weight (5.4lbs!) on vacation, this would have never happened before!
  • I bought two pairs of size 12 jeans and a size 12 & 14 bathing suit (to see which fits). Totally an NSV but it's funny how you become so programmed to wear plus size that it's almost a little uncomfortable to move to that other section.

My goal is to be under 180 by May 20th when we leave for our next vacation North Carolina. I only have 7lbs, so I think that's pretty doable! Once I'm under 180 I'm buying myself a pair of tieks!

LOL! The minute I walkedasd into my surgeon's office weighing 83 pounds, I'm pretty sure he'd admit me to the hospital upstairs. Haha. I was truly a lightweight when I started. My high weight was only 183.

I do, yes. It tastes VERY good. My Daughters even love it, and they usually hate any of my weight loss/diet things. I really like the consistency. It's a tiny bit thicker than I like for now, so I don't just drink it too often. I love to use it in recipes. Sometimes I use it in my protein waffle to give it a little sweetness. I don't like sugar free syrup, so I normally eat them plain. I made some protein donuts from the Eggface site with it, they were a huge hit!
