I wouldn't try too hard to gain weight back. When your body is ready to gain it will.  It could backfire on you.

Thank You!  The hardest part of the surgery is going to be the recovery.  He is NOT very good at following the rules...like driving and  picking up the baby.

I struggle when I'm bored or worry about something.  My Protein drinks are the only thing that I don't skip.  I keep some at work if I happen to forget it sitting on the kitchen table.  I've even gone in a little late or drove home on my lunch to get them.

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!!  It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

A woman on IG had vsg a year or so ago and had severe acid reflux. She just had a revision done about a week ago. She was at her goal weight if I'm not mistaken and still had the revision done because her reflux was so bad she couldn't eat.

I don't have any regrets looking back at that stage. I had to do a mandatory 6 month waiting period.  Working the health field you are probably aware of all of the does and don't of the RNY.

I didn't so I took advantage of that time to get rid of my Diet Pepsi habit and cut back on sugar. I also had to loose 1 pound each month and not allowed to show a gain on weighing day. I know others have quit smoking etc.  I was so glad I found this site because I learned a lot from our LW's experiences (lots more posters back then).  Bought a small plate etc. that I still like to use.  Tried out Protein drinks and vitamins etc. to see what I could tolerate but my tastes changed for a while after surgery but it did get me use to taking those things.  I read everything and asked my friends a million questions. Prepared my family (DH and DD#1 was totally against it) as to what to expect.
