WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

Morning LW's!! My Mom passed away yesterday. She's had dementia for quite a while now and lived in a Nursing Home. If I had it to do over again I would have kept her home longer and hired in help during the day. But I won't be getting a do over so I need to quit kicking myself and except it. I'm trying really hard not to "emotional" eat. No plans for eating today. We have to go make the arrangements this morning.

Thanks for stopping in and giving us an update!!

Carbs and weight gain go hand in hand. You can get hooked so fast! I would try to jump start losing again by increasing your calorie intake through good protein: Whey drinks, meat, jerky, etc. for a couple of weeks and then drop the calories back down to what you would normally use.

Catch up with us after the holidays!!

PS - I never stopped drinking my low calorie, low sugar protein shake for breakfast every day. I believe this helps more than anything.

Congratulations on your drive thru surprise!!!

Thank you for this reminder. I'm 10 years out and I must agree That you are 100% correct. I cut out mostly all carbs for the first 5 years or so and then gradually started eating bread and pasta "just this once". Well, the addiction is in full blast and I have regained 25lbs. I am Starting to mentally prepare to clean my body from this carb addiction and start my healthy eating on January 1st. I've made small changes thus far so that it's easier to wean off. I must do it, though. I need To be accountable and my first step was rejoining this forum.

Thank you you for your wise words. Any additional advise?

I've had more than my share of extra bites so far this holiday season and my scales were under my "perfect range" this morning. You will figure out what works for you.

1800 sounds like a lot of calories but you do work out so maybe. Just eat more protein than carbs. I haven't added mine up for years.

Good Afternoon LW's!!! I splurged and stopped at Dunkin Donuts and got an bacon, egg, cheese, croissant. I was surprised when the person in the car ahead of me paid for it. I'm usually the giver instead of the receiver so I'm definitely going to pass this act of kindness along.

I had an RMR test done last week and it said I should be eating 1800+ calories if I was sedentary which I?m not.

So im playing with my macros to try and figure out what a good number is for me.

I can?t imagine eating that much food so I?m trying to up my calories with protein and a bit of fruit, nuts and fats. We will see if the loss was just a fluke or if weight will stay down. It won't if I keep eating the crap I shoved into my face today!

Im entering a trial and error phase I think!

Have fun with the Boxing Day shopping you won?t catch me near a store until the new year!

Over 100 lbs lost! and 13 lbs below goal weight!
