Just wanted to keep you posted. I met with my surgeon today, after having been approved by the insurance for RNY, and we discussed whether a VSG would be a good option for me, since I prefer the latter as it is less invasive and doesn't have malabsorption and dumping etc. He said that in my case, and since I have already lost 20 lb on my own from the first visit then both procedures should work well. Notwithstanding that I have a very sweet tooth, I will have to discipline myself post-op without having to resort to dumping.
So, now his office will re-submit to the insurance and was told that usually this would take around two weeks.
So, unless I get any surprise from the insurance, for now, I am a sleeve in the making
Thanks again for all the support.
I had the vsg done and that is just what my surgeon preferred. I have had no issues at all. I did get dehydrated my first week, but that was it. I do not regret having the vsg done. Though I think the rny sounds good, too. I think it really just depends on which one you think is a good fit for you.
**Edited to add that I still have not reached goal, however, I think that is because I had began to focus on muscle building and was told to up my calories. When in reality I just wanted to maintain the muscle that I have and continue to lean out. I am still about 10 pounds from my goal.

Hump Day it is and Friday is pay day. I'm going to try to avoid the grocery store this week. I overspent last week. Seems like grocery prices keep going up. We seldom eat out so we're really eating 3 meals a day at home. I take my lunch every day.

The Premier Protein Clear isn't actually clear. It looks like fruit punch. The label says contains milk but it doesn't bother me. Milk upsets my tummy and also causes a rash on my neck. I don't add anything to it other than ice. I like it really cold. I will definitely buy it. I'm so glad to have won the Premier Protein giveaway.
