I bought a bodymedia thingy like bodybugg....

my question is its showing that i burn 1900 or more calories when i do my steps....
but i dont eat 1900 calories a day or anywhere close so im kind of confused why id not be losing

do you eat up to what your calories say and do you lose weight if you do?

is it possible to undereat calories??

i know you love yours so i wonder how you find the calories burned  against calories you eat?

If anyone else knows id love to have you reply also

Are you wearing it in the car? That's the one thing I found most inaccurate... it senses the vibration of the car and thinks you are burning calories.

It measures the calories you burn, the hours you sleep, how good the sleep is your getting, it has sensors that measure the heat in your skin, the sweat, and electrical conductive to see how active you are and has a 3 axis accelermetor  to meausre motion and steps taken...  you can plug into the computer via a usb port and it  uploads all the data to a graph ...  mine came with a 12 month subscription to their online program which is where you upload the data... it also has a food logging program so you can monitor calories in v calories out.... so if your a numbers type person it has it all there for you...  you can also get a seperate display monitor so you can see the calories your burning, steps taken as you go with out having to take it off to upload it first ....

im hoping to get an idea of how much activity i was actually getting, how much more i should be doing to get my metabolism up .. you can tell what activities you do which keep your calories burning higher by the numbers on the graph .... they claim they are 90 percent accurate but obviously its not so accurate if your wearing it in a car lol.,,,

i got mine from costco online  because i thought if i hate it i could always take it back...

all the reviews i have read were positive, the main complaint was they did not like having to pay for the online program...

I think it will be easier to use when i get the display so i dont have to take it off to know how many calories im burining  at any given time of the day ... im hoping seeing it will make me be inclined to improve my steps for the day at least im hoping for some incentive..

what it has done is given me  kind of a knowing where im at with calories and lets me know if i want a treat how much more calories i need to burn to keep within my range...

one thing i really want to work on this year is getting more active, and i know its going to be a struggle going in, because exercise and me have never been something ive stuck to long term...

I guess i need to find something i can do that i want to keep doing...
