Bought a bag at the store today, they fit within the nutritional guidelines. At what stage can we have these?

Just wondering why Opti Fast is prescribed, as opposed to eating a calorie-restricted, high protein, low-carb diet for the 1-3 weeks before surgery? Is there some reason we have to drink our nutrients? Like why can't I have a hard-boiled egg or a piece

I keep seeing conflicting information about whether we can absorb gel capsules post-op. I tend to choke on pills that aren't gel caps, so can we or can't we take them??

After a couple of years of doing some research on bariatric surgery, I finally asked my GP for a referral. He didn't seemed to know anything about the referral process or the surgery, and referred me to some new general surgeon in another city (Simcoe)
