~~~Today, I am celebrating my one year anniversary. This time one year ago I was in recovery awaiting for a bed to open up on the wing. In a years time I have many accomplisments to post. My health has returned to better then it was 10 years ago. No longer do I take medications for high blood pressure, insulin resistance, joint and bone aches nor medications for polycystic ovary syndrome. I went into surgery weighing 387.5 pounds which was several pounds less then my all time high the month prior to surgery. This morning I weighed in at 154 pounds. I once more have the freedom to walk, run, and play with the students in my classroom. My weightloss enabled me to return to a job that I had not been physically capabe of performing in 4 years. I am a teacher of preschool children with Autism. The past few years I taught in the high school popluation becuase I did not have the energy to keep up with little ones that moved all day long. My surgery was one that was completed with ease and I am so thankful that I had the courage to move ahead and complete this journey. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I too could lose this amount of weight and inches in only a years time. I am very happy with my current weight and look so forward to having my reconstructive surgery completed next summer. KimmieTN
Hi Kimmie, just want to let you know I got my surgery date scheduled. MARCH 03, 2003:-( I pray really hard to have a chance at the doctors cancellation list and with God's grace and mercy will still have the surgery this year. I've already had my medical clearance and dietitian evaluation this week and will have my psychological evaluation on Thursday. I'm getting all my ducks in a row:-) I wish you only the best and hope you continue this great way. You are a inspiration to me. Much Love, Ulli
