Dear Ron....Congratulations on your upcoming surgery date. Mine is June 3rd 2002. It is a little scarey, but the alternatives are worse so it was easy to decide to do it. May God Bless you with a successful surgery, a speedy and pain-free recovery, and a wonderful new life with your family. You will get there. With Love and Best Wishes, Marilyn

Hi Ron, Your such a lucky man.Wonderful daughters and making great plans to enjoy them like never before already. You will be fine. Put yourself in Gods hands and all will be well. I am out now 4 weeks today (18th) and I have lost 25 lbs and let me tell you, I physically feel 100% already.I used to have terribly swollen ankles and feet, always aches and pains, hardly could walk and if I did, I had to stop constantly to catch my breath.Already much of this is a thing of the past.Yes, it is life altering but what a wonderful feeling. I don't care if I can eat like before, I am just happy to be able to taste everything I like and I don't feel deprived.I am so happy now to just be alive whereas before I exsisted. I hope that beach is ready for the new you and I wish you all the best. Your heading for a whole new life with your family. A couple of days of not feeling so great after surgery is a norm, but each day you will feel better and better and within 2 weeks you will be jumping for joy. Good luck to you Ron. Anita Mulholland

Ron, Hang in there, I'm certain you'll love the rewards. I'm only 11 days post-op and already down 22 lbs. The surgery wasn't as easy as I had expected and for a few days regretted it, but now I'm on track and loving it and I know you will too. Have faith and God Bless.

Dear Ron~~~CONGRATULATIONS!!! on your upcoming WLS; it is truly a life altering, life affirming process and I wish you the very best of all of it. May God watch over you and your family and inspire your surgeon to do great things. I am an RN, I had an Open DS done in 2/01. I did very well not a hitch. I am having a panniculectomy and herniorraphy (getting rid of Fred and Barney, as I named them)on the 21st. I have the same feelings of anxiousness and "what if"s that all of us seem to go through preop. I am searching for that wonderful sense of calm I had two days before my last surgery. I pray that we all have uneventful procedures and complete recoveries. Be well.

Dear Ron, I read your post and had to laugh, I am feeling the same emotions. I will have my surgery on Tues May 21st and have done real well till this week. But I refuse to give in and give my time to the negitive. I will focus my energy on the positive and I am sure We both will be fine. I have found what helps me a lot when I get scared or thinking about the negitive, is to sit down and work out the things I will have to do once I get home I keep studying the facts of the surgery and what my life will be after. And I read the msg board alot. Those things have helped me tremendously. I hope that some of this may help you . Good luck and anytime you get down or worried about the surgery email someone on here or go to the msg board or chat room. It sure helps me. Hugs and prayers to you .

Hi Ron. Saw your post this morning and I wanted to take a minute to wish you all the best with your upcoming surgery. I know it's hard, by try to dwell on positive thoughts, envisioning your kids and you in a year from now, running and skating and swimming together and having a great time! The feelings that you are experiencing are normal, we all had them. I have no regrets about this surgery and would do it again in a minute. Please take good care of yourself and keep us updated as to your progress and KEEP POSITIVE!!
