Hi Leslie, Thank you for your support..I am really nervous, but feel I will be alright..I wish we had a support group in my area...The closest one I found was over 100 miles away..My boyfriend isn't much help he dosn't even want me to talk to him about it, so I don't. It is nice to be able to come here and talk to people who care..I wish you the best when your surgery gets here..Maybe you will get your surgery in Dec..And wish you a safe and pleasent recovery...Thanks again Aislinn

Leslie, thank you for you support. I have a date 11/20/02. I almost jumped out of my skin when they called me. My best friend just had her surgery on 10/31. She is doing good. It's all good. Mary ann

Hi Leslie! It was so nice to hear from you! I am finally able to eat more then soup, I now can have scrambled egg for breakfast, no toast but in a little over two weeks I'll be able to eat anything!! Ya-Hoo! I'll have to watch fats and sugars, but God will help me with it all! I have lost a total of about thirty-nine pounds! I saw my doctor yesterday and he said most people come off insulin two to six months after surgery! I was discharged non insulin dependent!! Praise God! The Sleep-Apnea will be cured soon and then all the other medication I am on for Cholestrol, Diabeties, High Blood pressure to just name a few. I told my doctors eight months ago I'm not seeking this surgery simply to get small, my Health was going downhill. I needed this tool to get it back! I kept praying to God if this is the right thing to do show me! I am thankfull to him always! Well I'll let you go for know! Keep your chin up and never stop searching for your answers!Your friend in the great circle of life!

Hi Leslie, I just asked this same question 2 weeks ago so I could update my profile. I read your profile and it looks like you have updated it before but you must have forgotten how, huh? #1. click on "your frofile". #2. type in your name and password and click on"update". #3. scroll down and click on "general information". #4. scroll to where you left off and type in your update and when you're finished, click on "update my profile.....badabing, you're done. Write it down for future referance because if you're anything like me, you will forget. Best of luck on your journey! Remember, you're never alone! BIG HUG! Carol Percel

Hi Leslie. Thanks for replying to my post. I just wanted to say that, from what I have been told by people I know, Medicare definitely does pay for the DS, but you have to jump through their hoops first. Don't give up, and good luck.
