Hi kids... I'm Joe, Karen's husband.
Karen went into surgery right on time this morning, and did very well. Surgery took about an hour and a half, with another hour or
so in recovery. She got to her room about 1:30 or so, and started shaking off the lingering effects of the anesthesia. By 4:00-ish she was
standing at the bedside, no dizziness or nausea, and at 7:00 we took a lap around the nurse's station. When I left a 8:30 she was getting a
breathing treatment.
Tomorrow, the NG tube gets pulled after (I think) her leak test (checks the suture line at the bypass for, well, leaks...), then she's on clear
liquids. She should be discharged on Wednesday afternoon/Thursday morning.
Thanks for all your support and kind words. You guys are alright!
