Alex had surgery 3/29 and I chatted with him for quite awhile today. He is still in the Dallas hospital which is fine by him. His wound is closing well... the upper one used to be about 6.5cm. long x (?cm. wide) x 4.5cm. deep and now it is only 4.7cm long x 2cm. wide x 2.8cm. deep. This is the wound that must be healed before he can go home. A wound care specialist takes care of his incision. He has been in the hospital 49 days now and the transfer to a nursing facility is still possible this weekend. Alex walked last night, too. I will call Alex next this Sat. or Sun. for the next update... We had a good time discussing all the places we want to go this summer and the different clothes we want to buy. On Alex's advice I recently went back and got a smaller pair of jeans and tried them on and they fit! Size 14! Who would have guessed. We don't have any clue what size he will be wearing but he can't wait to get out there and buy something nice for himself. Love,

Alex had surgery 3/29 and must still be at the hospital or I would have heard from him. He was going to call me when he got transferred to the nursing facility. I will call tomorrow and check on him. Love,

Alex had surgery 3/29 and is still in the hospital this weekend. The nursing facility is still trying to get his bed ready for him before they transfer him. He received magnesium (sp?) today IV because his labs showed he was low. His blood sugar has been around 108-112... a big improvement. He is getting up once a day and walking now. Love,

Dear Alex You're almost home! I was wondering when you would decide that enough was enough:) Hopefully the stay at the nursing facility won't be too long. What can anyone say about the 130#'s except Congrats and Keep up the good work. I know it's been more than a struggle, but when you get better, you're going to feel SO much Better! Alex, I just read on the AMOS site that you are FINALLY being cut loose from the hospital after a LONG stay. Glad to hear that you are doing better after all the trials you've gone through. 130 pounds lost!!! Your story has been an inspiration to us all who are still waiting for our day. My husband had his surgery cancelled last week because of an infection after waiting for almost 6 months. His new date is June 7th and mine is July 13th. We will contine to pray for you and expect to hear more good reports. KC
