Kids Say the Darndest Things
Nov 06, 2007
This past Sunday I went to look at wedding dresses. I tried one on that I found and took pictures. I was showing them to my 9 year old stepdaughter yesterday and she said "You know how you think you look fat in all your pictures." I said "yes". She said "Well you don't look fat in that dress. You look really pretty."
I had to laugh, but I told her that was the nicest thing she could have said and I would have to give her bonus points for that.
At first I was a little concerned where she was headed with that comment but I was really happy with what she said and it made me feel good.
We have a date! : )

I had an interview for a IT position with the a school district that I really wanted to work for, plus I am going back to school for me teaching degree. You can read about the whole interview thing below. Anyway what ended up happening is basically not did I not only get offered the position but the HR department at the district also wanted me for a position with them. I chose to go with the IT position.
Either way I am thrilled and blessed that the interview process is over and that I will be working there in the next couple weeks!
Thanks for your prayers and support!
On top of all that I got on the scales this morning and have lost a total of 101 lbs. YES! Now I have to go search on here and find out how you get on of these Century Club cards!

Hopefully this month will be a lot better!
3rd Interview today - Please say a prayer for me
Oct 01, 2007
Hi there everyone! For those of you that are checking to see if I have updated my pictures for this month yet I am sorry I haven't yet but I promise to have them up by the weekend!
Today I have a 3rd interview with a job I desperately want. I have recently decided to go back to school to be a teacher. I currently was going to school for computer programming. Anyway this job is a help desk position within the school district where I live. It just happens to also be the school district I graduated from, where my kids go, and where my mom teaches at. My hope is to get this job and work there till I am done with school and then hopefully be able to get a job within the district teaching.
This has been a very stressful 3 weeks for me. I had my 1st interview that went really well and I was told that she thought I would be a perfect fit. During my second interview I was told that it was down to 3 people and I should hear something by Friday (9/28/07). She called me on Thursday (9/27/07) to tell me that they had narrowed it down to 2 and that she would like to schedule an informal lunch interview with me. That is today at 11. Please wish me luck and say a little prayer for me.
Here is the funny thing. So of course I only had so many clothes I could wear to the interview. I was running out of stuff to wear so last night my fiancé helped me pick out something to wear. The shirt was one of my old ones. It's a size 26/28. It's a button up blouse. It never use to button and me be able to sit down in it. Now I can button it and sit down and still have a lot of room but it's not hanging on me so it looks okay. The pants though are 26/28 tall. There brown and the only ones that matched the shirt. So I put them on with some brown boots and left because I needed to get to work. Now I have been wearing these things to work since the surgery and even though they were getting baggy and a little long because not as much fat was holding them up they were still looking okay. Okay for today I thought. HELLO these things are falling off of me. I think I am stepping on about 3 inches of them when I walk. I can't go home and change before the interview because I don't have anything else to wear that I think would look okay. So my friend at work and I are going to go in the bathroom before I leave and roll up the top of my pants and put binder clips around the top. : ) Laugh, I did. Whatever it takes!
I was mad that I had only lost 6 pounds this past month. I know things are suppose to slow down as time goes on but I was upset about the 6 pounds. However these pants have showed me although I may have only lost 6 pounds I have had to have lost some inches as well! : )

I am wearing size 18-20!
Sep 12, 2007
When my mom took me shopping this past weekend for my birthday she bought me some new clothes. Some we had to get 22-24 but in most of the shirts I was able to get 18-20. Before surgery a 26-28 was very tight on me and a 30-32 was snug. Sometimes I feel like and 18-20 is still a big size but today my friend Pilar told me she liked my new shirt. Then she said "you look so tiny"! TINY... did she say TINY? Tiny? What is tiny? I am not tiny by far and I joked with her about the word tiny so she said okay you look smaller. I said that's better! She said that all my shirts had been hanging on me and by me wearing this new smaller shirt she was able to see really how much I have lost. Okay so I will admit that her using the word tiny in reference to me did make me smile and feel really good inside, but I know I still have a long way to go! However it is such a positive reinforcement to hear such wonderful compliments and have such a great group of friends and family who give me so much support! Thanks so much to everyone who supports me every bit of it really means so much! I love you all! Also thanks mom for being there to support me on this journey and sharing in the experience of me being able to fit in smaller clothes and of course thanks for buying them for my birthday! I love you very much!

Losing 90 pounds is a wonderful birthday present to myself! My mom is taking me shopping for a couple outfits for my birthday! It will be nice to not have to get the biggest size in the store!
