Long time veteran needing a refresher

Oct 28, 2022

I am 7+ years post surgery and have in general made a success of the new life and opportunities the bariatric surgery allowed me. I have maintained a healthy weight and been very happy for the most part. I have even gotten the chance to follow a dream and devote a number of years donating my time and healthcare skills in hospice programs here at home and in any way possible abroad in some of the world's poorest and most needy developing nations.

Despite all the wonderful things that have come since surgery what I didn't do was keep up with taking the necessary daily supplements my body needed. Needless to say it caught up with me in a big way. While I made any number of excuses of why I didn't ranging from it's too hard to find vitamins in rural 3rd world nations to telling myself maybe what I could get might not be a safe suitable option.

Now of course I am in a very bad way and my red blood cell count is so frighteningly low I reached the point my hair is falling out from the strain I have put on my body.....

While I am sure the road back to good health is one that will need the careful long term oversight of a quality physician my more immediate problem is I can't even remember what I should be taking each day on a normal basis and all the what, when, and how's of meeting the general recommended daily supplemention. I would like to at the very least start taking the right amounts of the each of the recommended supplements as soon as possible while I make the long trek home to seek modern healthcare.

I am sure the sooner I start getting back in the habit of taking the normal daily recommended supplements the better off I will be. I know I have screwed up badly and want to start doing what I can asap as I travel back to the United States
