I am 31 yrs old, & I have suffered with a weight problem pretty much all of my life, but never been as heavy as I am today! I had ankel surgery 3 yrs ago, & faced alot of complications with that. Over those 3 years, I put on so much more weight, not being able to be as active. I have always wanted to have weight loss surgery, join weight watchers, nutra system, but financially, just was never able to accomplish any of it! I've tryed diets, weight loss medicine, its all a J*O*K*E! Whatever I would loose, I would gain back double :o( For the past year have I been suffering with bad migrains, & blurred vision. I was diagnosed in April 2009, with "Pseudo Tumor Papilledema" OMG!! What is that?? Well it's to much fluid retention through out my body that cause's to much fluid on the spine, that cause's to much fluid in the brain, which cause's my optic nerves to swell, & is the reason I was having so many migrains, as well as blurred vision. "Pseudo Tumor Papilledema" is caused by rapid weight gain, & can cause me to become blind. I am taking 2000mg of fluid pills a day, to help with the fluid retention. That's when I made the choice to Give Up, Give In, or, Give It All You've Got!!!! I have four boys that I have to raise, & want to be around to watch them as they grow. My neurologist referred me to a biatric surgeon, because now it has become medically necessary! She picked Dr.Glenn Steeb & said he was one of the best dr.'s, from meeting with him myself, & doing research I must agree she was right! I also joined a nutrition class, that I "LOVED" Lisa & Pam are awesome! I graduated from the class January 6th :o) now just waiting on my psych eval, then my surgery date! When I was diagnosed with "Pseudo Tumor Papilledema", I weighed in @ 349lbs, now I weight 301lbs!! I lost 48lbs in 9 months :o) 2010 is my year for change..a better way of life, a better me!!
