6 Month Post Op

Sep 27, 2009

Hello everyone! I am happy to say that I went to my 6 month post op appointment last week. Dr. Chapman was very pleased with my progress. I started at around 228 lbs and last week I was down to 141 lbs! He said that over the next few months I will lose 1-15 more lbs. However, he would be satisfied if I did not lose one more pound.

I am grateful that I pursued this surgery at the weight that I was. Luckily, I do not need to have any skin removed. I feel better than I have in years. I have so much energy, and I actually look forward to excercising. I am trying to start running again, and even with the aches and pains it feels great!

I had some regrets right after the surgery, but now I have none! I went from a size 18/20 to a size 10. The hardest part for me has been getting used to my reflection in the mirror.

I hope that all of you are doing well! I will have to most some more recent pics when I get a chance. My avatar pic is from several months ago!

It has been so very long...

Jul 09, 2009

I had my surgery on March 11th 2009. My weight the day of surgery was 228. I am currently at 159. I can not even believe the person that I am turning into!

It  has certainly not been easy. I am not going to lie and say that it was. I completely under estimated the entire process of this surgery. I had a hard time with feeling sick everytime I put one of those Opti-Source shakes in my mouth.

Once I began eating it got a little easier! I can pretty much eat anything now. I just can not eat a lot. I have to remind myself to eat at all! That is nice!

I am glad that I had the surgery.  I have a wonderful Dr! He is very proud of my success and says that I am the "picture perfect" patient. Everything is going exactly how it is suposed to.

I started as an 18/20 and now I am a 14! That makes me happy!

I apologize for not getting up with everyone. For some reason my laptop at home does not allow me to respond to emails on this site.

Decision Time!

Dec 24, 2008

I am sorry that I have not posted in such a long time. Holidays and work... and well... you know how that goes!

I went on Dec 11th to my last appointments. I was cleared by the Psych and the Nutritionist. I got a call the next day that they had found a mass on my liver and I have to go get that checked out.

I have an appointment on January 20th. I have a CT scan of my liver. I meet with the Anesthesiologist and go to my DECISION appointment. I am praying that everything goes well and I will be having surgery real soon!

I am also starting a new job in January. I will be going to a normal 8 hour a DAY work schedule. I really think that is going to help me get healthy!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday!

Oct 25, 2008

I am still waiting on my appointment dates to come in the mail. I went to my orientation on Wednesday. It was interesting although I felt like I knew  a lot already because I have some close friends that have already gone through the process not to long ago.

Oh well... the more info the better!

Cant wait to get the process going!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Wishing... and hoping... and praying... and wishing....

I have been going to the mailbox every single day like a crazy woman. Waiting for that letter from the Dr. with my scheduled appointments! I am sooooooooo ready to get moving on this. I want this fat gone and the new me here!

My fiance told me today that when I reach goal I get to pick the vacation of my choice. (Something with a two piece bathing suit is in my future!)

I go for my orientation on Wednesday. I cant wait!

The ball is rolling!

Oct 11, 2008

I went to my first visit on Thursday. I loved Dr. Chapman and his staff. He said that I am a definate candidate for the surgery. I am 95 lbs overweight and have like 3 contributing factors. They needed a weight history from 2004-2007. Luckily, my heart Dr. and my gyno is there at ECU so they were able to pull it up on the computer. One less thing for me to worry with.

After my appointment I went to the hospital to have my chest xray, ekg and blood gas drawn. Now... I am waiting for my appointments to come in the mail and I go to my orientation on the 22nd.

I am soooooo happy. He told me I will lose apx 100 lbs and by October of next year he thinks I will be 130 lbs. I almost fell off the table! That is so much smaller than I every thought of. I was happy when I got down to 160!

I just want to be healthy again. I know this sounds crazy but I just want to be thin enough to excercise!

One Week Until...

So... my first appointment with the surgeon is next Thursday. I can not wait! I am sooooo looking forward to meeting him and even more excited about the prospect of getting this weight off.

I have been researching until I am blue in the face. I can NOT wait!
