well 9 days to go I had my pre-op testing today and everything was fine which means there are no hold ups the only thing that was a very small concern was my blood sugar was slightly high the dr. said if i gained any more weight and about 6 more months i would be a diabetic if I wasn't getting the surgery but since I am getting the surgery I dont have to be concerned with it...i dont think I would have been able to handle that. Being over weight causes many health issues and their really are people out there who really think big people are big just for the hell of it.trust me it's not a choice to be obesed  not at all...

Well I got my surgery scheduled today it's March 30th and my pre-op is Monday at 8:30 am this is so unreal I really feel like I'm dreaming....after many years of dealing, copeing, and adjusting to my weight I finally have a chance to be a healthy size...I wont say a normal weight because who can really say what that is lol...what i do know is I am greatful, thankful and prayerful for this second chance to live my life.I cant even began to explain all the things i am feeling at this time but there is a very big smile (---------) on my face.

Yaayyy!!!! I got a call today from the lady in the insurance department and she told me that she got my medical insurence  clearence and my folder was going to my surgeon and now all I have to do is wait for thencall from the scheduler to give me a date for surgery.....now I am getting a lil nervous like am I really  going to know what it's like to be not over weight or a fullfigured woman. So close but yet so far away

well yesterday i went to my consult at the Barix clinic here in Michigan it went well i liked what i learned I also liked the surgeon his name is Dr. Taylor he told me I was a canidate for surgery so i am going with the gastric bypass that will benifit me more heath wise and with the weight I need to lose. so i was told I could have my surgery in about 30 days which made me extreamly happy all i have to wait for is the results from my echo i had a few days ago to be faxed over to them then the will contact me with a date for surgery..... this is a new begining to what I hope will be a heathier happier me

Hi I am a 40yr old woman who has dealt with being over weight most of my life when I was 12 I was 185lbs.and from there the weight just kept adding up the only thing was until I was 20 i didnt have any belly fat so i was pretty solid all over.I have tried all the diet fades my doctors have put me on the 1200 calorie diet several times, i have been to th several diet doctors and as always i would lose 10-20 lbs then gain double back.The most I have lost was when I went to a certain weight lose clinic I lost 50lbs but gained it back and a extra 20. Last year i had a diet dr. but that was some crap to he put me on dieabetic medichine to lose weight. Then I have to laugh about it now but my primary care doctor that I had for about 4yrs. use to tell me no matter what I went to see him for that if i lost weight I wouldnt have it even the common cold. Needless to say I finally have a doctor who cut right to the chase and said he wanted me to have a consult for surgery so here is where my journey begins..my consult is this friday at 10:30 am at the Barix Clinic and I hope all goes well.
