Another Update ... 310/218/143

May 22, 2006

Well, still haven't lost any weight or inches ... hmmm... trying to increase protein, exercise, and water ... I'll see what I can do with that.  HOWEVER, I'm still enjoying life and enjoying the fact that I'm fitting into smaller clothes.  It's hard to find anything that fits since I'm in between sizes and depending on the cut of the clothes, the type, and the way the wind may be blowing that way .. who knows how things will fit!

Quick Update ... 310/223/143

Apr 29, 2006

Just a quick update ... Weight loss is going slow, but I'm still losing inches like crazy.  I wear a size 14/16 pants and a M/L shirt.  I've been pretty stressed about some personal things lately, so I haven't been eating and drinking the way I should be, but I'll do better.  It's weird to me to wear the size I do and weigh the amount I do, but whatever.  I saw a picture of my face/neck yesterday ... it's so thin .. it's odd to me!  Have a good one.

Still Going Good ... Wt. 310/229/143

Apr 15, 2006

Things are still going good.  I am wearing a size 16 in pants/dresses, and a size 14/16 in shirts.  I tried on an easter dress today - I bought one and had to go get another one because the first one is too big now.  The new dress fit so awesome. I originally reached for a size 20, but my partner corrected me and made me get a 16 (again, trying to make room).  I am just amazed.  I am down 12 sizes from a 28 to a 16.  How spectacular is that!  Also, I am so GLAD my hair has not fallen out!!!  If anything, my hair is longer and thicker than ever!!!  I have all the energy in the world.  My mother had surgery 2 weeks ago and she's going thru those same regrets I had, but she'll be alright.  Other than that, nothing is new.  Just happier than all get out.  See y'all soon!

Went Shopping ... Wt. 310/237/143

Mar 31, 2006

So, I've been doing a little bit of shopping this week.  Bought two pairs of pants from Lane Bryant and I took my partner along with me to make sure I was buying the right sizes (since I still got the mentality of "need to make room").  Well, I bought them last weekend and towards the end of this week - THEY ARE TOO BIG.  I've lost 11 lbs. this week.  I haven't changed how I'm eating, not doing anything differently, not tired or lethargic - guess it means I am so over my plateau.  So, I'm happy, just shocked!

Had MD Appointment! Wt. 310/238/143

Mar 23, 2006

I am exactly less than 100 lbs. from my goal!!  My MD appointment was spectacular.  My labs came back great - I'm healthy as a horse!  I've lost 17 inches all around, I am down 10 sizes from 28 to 18.  The dietician told me to stop wearing my favorite sweater because it is WAY too big for me.  I get all my vitamins, water, and protein in.  Chicken makes me throw up (that sucks!), but otherwise, I eat pretty good.  I'm eating between 4-6 ozs. a meal.  I'm increasing exercising now.  I'm thoroughly enjoying life!  I'll get pictures on here soon!!

Just a Quick Update! 310/245/143

Mar 04, 2006

I am doing spectacular.  I have lost 65 lbs. since surgery 2 1/2 months ago.  I feel great!!  People are really starting to notice a difference.  I got a compliment from one of the baliff's a juvenile court who said that I had lost a lot of weight and he thought I looked beautiful (and followed that up with "not that you didn't before").  It was a nice compliment.  As far as people that I work with ... I have gotten the whole "you look great" to "are you sick". LOL!  My boss is forever leaving candy and chocolates on my desk and I told him if he wants to leave me something, leave me a piece of fruit.  My partner has been gone for almost a month and she'll be home on Friday, so I can't wait for her to see.  My energy is still way up there - last night, I walked 3 miles and could have gone for 3 more, but I didn't want to get tired far away with no one to call to pick me up! :)  Plus, I was walking so fast, my daughter was running next to me!!  I get in all my water, protein, and vitamins like clockwork.  I don't throw up very often anymore since I've finally learned when I am full.  I've thrown up once in the past month when I didn't properly chew some chicken.  I tend to eat an Atkins shake for breakfast (so that I can drink all the water I want in the mornings - I get so thirsty first thing in the morning), a lean cuisine meal at lunch (about 1/2), a sensible dinner (usually chicken with vegetables) - occasionally, I may have a piece of fruit, and I'll do 1/2 of atkins shake right before bed so that I do not wake up hungry or get low blood sugar and start crashing in the middle of the night (sometimes this happens and I'll have to take a sip of juice if I ran out of the shakes).  I don't do the Whey Protein drinks that often anymore.  I actually hate them now, but I have cannisters of them as a back up to the atkins shakes.  So, my little regimen works well for me!!  My vitamins - I take calcium and multi in the morning, multi and iron at night (with food - iron makes me sick to my stomach if I don't), and B-12 twice a week.  Anyway, it is 8 a.m. and I am itching to go do something .. so got to get dressed and go play in the day!!  For those of you that said I don't post enough - hope this is long enough for you!!!! :)

Wow! It's Been Busy! Wt. 310/257/143

Feb 17, 2006

It's been a busy month for me.  I am constantly on the go.  I didn't lose very much this month since I hit a plateau, but 10 lbs. isn't much to sneeze at!  I am down 53 lbs. since surgery and I'm feeling great.  I got sick at the beginning of January, which is probably why I hit the plateau.  After being sick for 3 weeks, I finally felt better and started losing again.  My partner is out of town for a month, so, I have a lot of free time right now.  Work is keeping me busy and I'm switching from a on-going/part-time investigator to a full-time investigator.  So, I'm still thoroughly enjoying life and I hope to increase my activity a little more.  Have a great one!

Doing Awesome!! Wt. 310/268/143

Jan 14, 2006

I am doing awesome!  I currently weigh 268.  My energy has picked up 10X the amount.  I joined the YMCA (no contracts, no joining fees) and this has been spectacular for my entire family because they go with me and we do a lot of things together (i.e. swimming, basketball, volleyball).  I'm fitting into a size 22/24 (down from 26/28/30).  I eat solids now.  I tend to have an Atkins shake for breakfast because I can't handle not having something to drink first thing in the morning (that's when I'm thirstest), a half of a lean cuisine meal at lunch (or another shake), and then a small dinner.  For snack, I'll usually have another shake so that I don't get hungry or some cheese.  I still can't eat things like eggs, some meats, and I'm still learning when I'm full, but it is getting easier to tell.  I'm getting smaller all over the place!!  I'm having a lot of fun right now and I appreciate the gift given to me!!

2 Week Check-Up! Wt 310/280/143

Dec 29, 2005

I am doing a lot better.  MD's office told me to go back to clear liquids; this worked for awhile, but then my daughter cried saying she wanted to come home.  I was too weak to take care of her, so I started to eat real food (phase 2 - pureed).  This increased my energy dramatically.  I am not sore anymore and my bowels are working about 2x/wk.  I've lost about 10 lbs. since last week.  I'm trying to figure out when to take my vitamins, get in all the water, try protein drinks with lactose free milk (and not have diarrhea), and the best times for me to eat.  It's a learning curve, but it's getting better.  I'm supposed to go back to work tomorrow, but I don't know if I will.  I have lost A TON of inches.  My breast are smaller (damn!), but my clothes are shrinking pretty quickly.  My partner and family members can tell the difference.  It's not as noticable to me except my pants are falling off - good thing I wear them baggy.  I am getting in 40-50 ozs. of water and 40-50 ozs. of protein a day.  Goal for this weekend ... begin an exercise routine.  I am doing SO WELL!!!  Have a great holiday!

I'm Home ... and In Pain! Wt. 310/291/143

Dec 17, 2005

I got home yesterday night.  My hospital stay left a lot to be desired.  The first two days, I was doped up and slept a lot.  The second two nights, I couldn't get the RN to respond when I needed pain meds, my veins kept going bad where the IV was and my meals were all wrong.  I'm lactose intolerant and I didn't realize until last night that every meal they served me had milk in it.  So, now that I'm home, I have been on this liquid diet and I have spent every 10 minutes in the bathroom with diarrhea.  I called the on-call surgeon and asked if I could take anything.  He tells me no, take a shower after each time.  I told him I had just had Lap RNY and I couldn't take a shower, but I was using disposable wipes.  He didn't seem to understand about lap rny that much.  So, I took some imodium last night and that seemed to help, but today, I'm right back on the pot.  I am regretful at this point and I've been crying a lot.  I read somewhere that this will go away after the liquid diet.  I hope so.
