4 1/2 months out and down 60 lbs.

Aug 12, 2010

Well here I am again with my monthly update.  On August 26th it will be 5 months since I've had my surgery and I'm down 60lbs as of this morning!

I must admit, it's hard most of the times having the sleeve(I call her Silvia) since I'm not hungry the majority of the time.  I have to force myself to eat...really.  The food I use to like disgust me; I waste a lot of money when I do go to a restaurant because I throw out the majority of the meal.  Some people have told me to keep the food for later, but it's that's same attitude, "Hoarding Food", that got me where I was.  I politely decline and say, "it's just food."

I'm ashamed to admit that when I see people really overweight I want to approach them and tell them about my sleeve.  If I'm out a restaurant I shake my head in disgust at the amount of food people eat.  But then I remember that was me...an appetizer, a salad, my main course, dessert and two drinks.  Wow, that's a lot of food.

I crave my protein shakes and basically live off them.  I exercise... I try to exercise often.

My doctor insist I work with a nutritionist to find nutritional meals to eat.  I've told him, it's not the meals, I'm just not hungry.  He has refused to see me again until I've seen one.  So, I'm searching the area for one that has worked with WLS patients.

I've already donated 6 trash bags full of clothes and 16 pairs of shoes (my feet lost weight!!!!).  I gave away the clothes to confirm that I am NOT going back there EVER again!!
