Almost 17 months post-op

Apr 01, 2009

Ok, so on April 16th I will be 17 months post-op.  And I am now about 9 weeks pregnant.  Back in November 08 I got pregnant but had a miscarriage and now everything seems to be going well.  I don't get on here too much because I just got a promotion at work and am quite busy with that and home stuff.  I hope everyone is doing great and feels just as good as I do.  Good Luck to everyone!

Nearly 1 Year Post-op

Nov 05, 2008

Well I can't beleive it.  On November 16th I will be one year post-op and I've lost a total of 128 lbs from my highest weight.  I feel 100% better and I've even convinced someone else to have the surgery.  My boss has diabetes and is overweight, and after a long discussion on what I went through, he finally decided to check into it.  I'm very excited for him becuase it will completely change his life.  I'm now in a size 10, even though I don't have the money to buy any 10's right now.  But my 12's are way too big on me.

I've also been having these strong feelings lately.  I didn't think it would happen this soon but it is.  I'm wanting more and more to get pregnant again.  I loved being pregnant the first time and just keep wanting it more and more.  Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Anyway I just wanted to update while I had the chance.  I know it's been a while and it gets harder and harder to do this becuase I'm so busy.  Hope everyone else out there is doing great and enjoying their new lives just as much as I am.

1 Goal Attained

Apr 16, 2008

I am now officially under 200lbs.  I weighed myself last night and I am 199.  So it's only 1lb under but to me it's a huge accomplishment.  The last time I was under 200 was back in 2000 the year I graduated.  My husband has never even seen me at this weight until now.  I'm wearing dresses and becoming not so self conscious about myself.  I've been keeping up well with going to the gym and I feel great.  Well, have to run just wanted to share my goal attained.

Loving Every Minute

Apr 06, 2008

So I went to my best friend's place in Albany this weekend.  See I'm a bridesmaid in her wedding and I had to get a dress.  I loved trying on all of the dresses now I've lost so much weight.  It's been 4.5 months and I've lost a total of 76 lbs.  Anyway the point is, while I was at her place she mentioned she had a pair of jeans that she doesn't fit into anymore, so she said she would give them to me.  I told her that I probably wouldn't fit into them for another month or so and she told me to try them on anway.  I fit into them perfect.  They weren't too tight or too loose; just perfect!! It feels so good to be able to be in a size 16 after wearing 28's for so long.  Anyway when I got back home I had some extra money left to spend so I went to Kohl's and splurged.  I bought another pair of size 16 (low waist) jeans, three shirts, three pairs of sexy underwear, and a cute little naughty outfit for my husband.  Thank god everything was on sale because I would have ended paying well over 300 for all of it and with the sale I only paid 150.  Ok so I just had to share how excited I was that I fit into the same size pants as my best friend.  Anyway I have to run. TaTa

Losing Fast

Mar 05, 2008

I know it's been a while since I've posted but I've been really busy.  You all know how it gets once you've had the surgery.  Anyway I'm losing faster than I thought I would.  It hasn't quite been 4 months and I've lost a total of 66 lbs.  Maybe some people think that's average but I didn't expect to lose that much so fast.  I think it's mostly because I've been going to the gym to exercise since I was a month and half out.  Right now I basically do 15 to 20 minutes on a cardio machine and then work out my legs, arms and abs on the weight machines.  I never realized before how much I would like working out.  Now that I'm doing it I really like it.  I just feel so much more energized after I work out and I sleep a lot better.  So anyway I'm down from 280 to 214.  Clothes keep getting bigger by the day and I can't seem to keep up with buying them.  The only problem I have is when I went to try on a new bra the other day I'm still in the same size just a different cup size.  I don't mind the different cup size it's the size around that bothers me.  I've lost almost 5 or more inches in my measurements but nothing around my bust area.  I think it's just the extra skin.  That's why I'm working my pectoral area on the machines at the gym.  I'm hoping to tighten up that area so it lifts my breat a little and gets rid of some of the extra skin.  Ok I have to run; gotta get back to work.  Good luck to everyone having the surgery, it's the best thing in the world you could for your body.

Trying to get back to normal

Jan 02, 2008

First off I want to say thankyou for everyone who has wished me well and sent me messages.  I'm so sorry I couldn't return any of the messages.  While I was off work I didn't have much time to get on the internet so I wasn't posting or re-writing anyone.  To update, so far everything is going well.  I'm eating two meals a day, and a Carnation Instant Breakfast every morning.  I've drinking a lot more now and trying to remember my vitamins.  I have a really hard time remembering to take pills so my prilosec is often forgotten.  I am currenlty at 237 lbs.  That makes a total weight loss so far of 43lbs.  I seem to be losing it in my thighs and ass so now when I sit down I have to have a cusion or else my butt starts hurting.  It's nice though to know that I'm losing the weight.  I'll have a picture of myself taken this weekend and put it up next week.  Most of the difference can be seen in my face.  Well I have to run.  I'll keep updating frequently.

Pancreatitis

Dec 11, 2007

Hello everyone.  I know it's been a while since I've been on and updated.  It turns out that last Friday I had to run to the emergency room and I got Pancreatitis.  It's the worst pain I've every had so far.  Worse than any surgery I've had so far.  So they told me I would only have to be in the hospital for a few days and I was just released tonight.  I was in the hospital for 11 days.  Anyway Im still recovering and trying to feel better so I'm gonna run.  I'll update soon.

5 days post op

Nov 20, 2007

Hello Everyone.  I just want to start by saying thank you to everyone who sent me meesages wishing me well.  I really appreciate it.  Well I am officially 5 days post op.  I had my surgery on Froday the 16th and I went home this past Monday.  I'm doing really well.  I haven't had to take any pain meds and I feel great.  I have a very high pain tolerance so I knew I wouldn't too bad.  I had my drain taken out today and they also took out the staples.  I weighed in at 280 the day of surgery and now 5 days later I am 267.  So that's a loss of 13 lbs.  The last time I was 267 was the day I had my son in March 2006.  It's nice to be there even though it's not much.

I had a complication in the recovery room that really scared me and now I don't think I want to have another surgery.  Right after I got into the recovery room they took the tube out of my throat and I tried breathing and couldn't.  I wasn't getting any air and started hitting the back of my head against the bed trying to breath.  The nurses yelled for the anesthesiologist and he came over and had to tip back my head and put a tube down my throat.  I finally started breathing and I remember how scary it was.  But now everything is fine and I'm doing good.  Well I have to go.  Thanks for everyones kind words and good luck to everyone.

2 More Days

Nov 14, 2007

So I officially only have two days left.  Actually half of today and then tomorrow.  It seems so surreal right now.  It's really weird and I have no idea what I'll look like once this is done.  Anyway I just wanted to leave one last post because this is my last day at work and I won't be on the internet for a while to post.  I'll probably post a few days after I come home.  Tomorrow I'm not working because I have to take two tablespoons of Fleet's Phospho soda.  It cleans out your bowels before surgery.  And I'm only allowed to have clear liquids tomorrow.  So tonight is officially my last dinner for a while.  I don't care though.  I don't have anything really special planned like  alot of people do.  I know some people will go out to dinner and others will plan this huge dinner.  I'm not that into food so it's not important to me.  Ok I have to get back to work.  Wish me luck everyone!!
