Long time!

Nov 02, 2012

It's been 22 months since surgery. I am now 134. I keep losing if I watch what I eat. I'm not exercising which is totally wrong but I'm still working nights. I just went through a breakup today and I didn't eat much. I am in a size small or extra small and a size 6 pants. Down from a 22/24 almost two years ago. I still struggle with food cravings every day and I do eat sweets and candy since I usually only dump lightly on fats. I am really enjoying being this size. I never thought I would be here.

Jan 20, 2012

Today I weighed in at 145!  It's been 11.5 months!  I never thought I could lose 126 pounds in less than a year! I still want to lose 5 more. I have a lot of loose skin though, it's not so bad though.

Onederland!!

Jun 09, 2011

After 4 months and 5 days I have finally entered ONEDERLAND!!!   I have lost 72 pounds. I have not been in the 100's since I was about 19 or 20. I'm now 37 so that's a long time. I was stalled for almost 2 weeks and that killed because everyday I woke up, got on the scale and it would always say 200 or 201.  This is great. I really am in shock.

So much has changed!

May 16, 2011

In three and a half months!  I started this journey at 271 size 22. Today I am 207 and size 16!  63 pounds was my halfway mark and I blew past that this morning with a two pound loss. I also kicked out my dead beat boyfriend last month and feel better than I have in twelve years!  Onederland is right around the corner. I really can't believe this is all happening so fast. WOW.  I love my RNY!

30 pounds lost!

Mar 01, 2011

In less than a month!  In two days I will be 4 weeks out. This was my goal, to lose 30lbs in one month and I met that goal!  WOW. I was 271 the morning of surgery and now I'm 241. Incredible!  I feel good but I am still getting super tired at around 7:30 every night which sucks since I work night shift and have to go back full time next week. At least that first week I can work from home. I am loving my RNY!!!

3 weeks 1 day

Feb 26, 2011

Down 27 pounds!   I'm now 244!!   I went to Kelly's BBQ last night with the family and had some overcooked lima beans and some juice off gumbo and a few tiny bites of pulled pork.  I felt normal.  My first restaurant meal was Sbarro. I ate the cheese of my youngest daughters half eaten pizza. It is getting better every day! I have one more week of leave but I have started helping out from home 2 hours per night. This coming week will be 4 hours a night, then full time from home and then back to work/work at home at the start of week six. I needed all of this time to heal and adjust. I feel good and have started to exercise and get around more. I love my RNY.

Drain out!

Feb 14, 2011

I feel like a new woman. The dreaded drain is out!  The PA had me take a deep breath in and then blow it out hard three times and look to the right. By the time I was done, it was out.  No pain or discomfort. I also lost 18 pounds in 10 days!!!  WOOHOO!!   Yesterday I stayed home all day with terrible left sided pain and now I have to go get an u/s of my gallbladder. More surgery may be in my near future. I love my RNY. It's so different from the band. OH, I was also cleared to try eggs. I have been craving eggs so I tried one egg mixed with cottage cheese and a half slice melted American cheese. A few small bites in and I knew it was too early to eat them. I had to stop. It's fine, I have been in love with cottage cheese with spagetti sauce and cheese so I will just stick to this for a while.

1 week post op

Feb 11, 2011

This week has been weird.  I'm glad it's over. I have lost 13 pounds and that's great but I am living on clears and I think I now have lactose intolerance. I have diarrhea and I can't stand that. I can't eat more than a tablespoon of watered down refried beans. Weird. Tha is the only word to describe this week. Not really pain since my incisions don't hurt but I'm tired and gassy. Everything I eat or drink gives me painful gas in my belly. I also still have my drain and it's getting painful on the outside but is no longer really draining anymore--thank God for that. Anyway, I guess I am sounding a little down or pessimistic but it is all so new. Maybe next week when I update I'll read this and wonder what I was thinking. Everyday does get better. I'm glad I had the RNY, no question.

Surgery tomorrow!!

Feb 03, 2011

I'm having my Gastric Bypass in the morning!  I'm in sort of a fog. Not too nervous or anything. I'm just trying to pack the kids clothes for their weekend with granny and make sure I have everything together.  They will call between 2 and 4 to give me my exact surgery time. Anyway, I am going to get two of my girls from school in about 20 minutes and I will, of course, stop by McDonald's for my VERY LAST iced Mocha.  I know how to make them with protein mix, but DANG!  I'll miss that the most!  I made a "farewell" dinner at home last night. Steak on the grill, baby potatoes, fresh garlic green beans, summer squash with onions and Callah bread. I went to publix and got a small cake (I love their buttercream icing) and some tolhouse brownie bites. I will have to give the rest of that to my mom tonight to get it out of my house. Anyway, I'm ready for this. Not the pain of recovery but the weight loss. I keep getting really excited when I think of all the things I want to do this summer that I could never do. I LOVE the beach and when I get more strength and lose a lot of weight I want to take up Stand Up Paddle Boarding. Also, I want to climb a rock wall and go propelling!  Wow, why couldn't I have done this 10 years ago when I was 26?!?!?!   I feel like a kid in this grown up body. Age is only a number, right?!?!?
