Waist: 41"
Hips: 49"
Thigh: 26"
Calf: 16"
That's 9.25" and 6.2# lost in 5 weeks. I've got my second fill scheduled for Tuesday (2/13).

I had my first fill yesterday. I can't get over how nice my dr is!! He ended up having to stick me twice cuz the first time he didn't get in the port and pulled back some abdominal fluid. It all went well. I was able to watch because it was done under fluro and afterwards I had to sip a little barium to make sure the stoma wasn't to tight...pretty cool to see.
I just booked a trip to go to Arizona in March, so I'm pretty excited about that. My Grandma goes out there every winter but wasn't able to leave on time this year because she was undergoing chemo for lung cancer...which I'm happy to say she's kicking that nasty thing in the butt!! So now she's leaving this Sunday.

Here's my 5 week check in:

Neck: 14.5"
Chest: 37.5"
Upper Arm: 14"

I compared these to the last time I was measured which was around 5/04. I was at 256# and I've lost a total of 12" since then!! I just wish I would have measured and taken pics before surgery!! Oh well, I can compare these to new ones in a month! I go for my first fill next Tuesday (1/16). I know everyone says the first one usually doesn't do anything...but a girl can hope, right? I can almost eat as much as I did preop right now and haven't lost in the last couple weeks. I'm back to solids and loving it!

I had my 2 week post op appointment today. I met with the nut and did not like her. I also met with the physical therapist...don't know how much good that did me, she basically just said to exercise...duh. Something good: my BMI is now under 40 (37.9)!! I can also start pureed foods now.

I had my one week check up today with my surgeon's PA. She said everything looks great. I do have a yeast infection in my mouth (yuck) and she gave me some meds for that. Oh, and I got to take the ster-strips off my incisions...they were driving me nuts...very itchy!!! I meet with my nut, PT, and another PA checkup again next week, then it's back to work.
I went out and bought some frozen berries and bananas and I'm gonna make a smoothie tonight for supper (all fruit, I figure that's gotta be pretty healthy). I also did some x-mas shopping and now I'm back home relaxing :)

Feeling better today so far, but still a little sick to my stomach. I think taking all these liquid meds is making me sick...so I haven't taken any yet today. I haven't been eating very much and am now down to 248# as of this morning. I know this isn't good, but I can't eat many things...just makes me sick. I cheated last night cuz I was feeling pretty weak and thought some real food might help, so I had about 1/2 cup of mac & cheese (chewed really really really well).
Good news: NSV-I can finally wipe my ass with my normal hand!!! LOL

I woke up yesterday feeling pretty good. But, it didn't last for long. By 6pm I started to have pain in my left shoulder and arm, I thought it might have just been gas pain so I put heat on it. Well, by the time 1030 rolled around and I had taken my lortab w/no help, I ended up going to the ER. Turns out I have a blood clot and an infection at my IV site. So now I'm on 3 more medications: Morphine (doc gave me 3 doses cuz the pain was so bad and the lortab didn't touch it), Antibiotics (for the infection), and motrin (to help break up the blood clot and reduce inflammation). Now I have to "lay low" and take it easy. I'm supposed to be keeping my arm elevated and put heat on the IV site. To top it all off, I was also feeling a little nauseas (sp?) and the meds didn't help that. It's 6am, I haven't slept and I've been trying to eat the same cup of apple sauce since 3am. Oh, and did I mention my throat still hurts!! It's pretty red back there and my uvuala is really swollen and has white spots on it!!!

I'm home!!! Surgery went good, but woke up in quite a bit of pain. The pain was pretty well controlled in the hospital with my morphine drip and I was able to walk around quite a bit. Since I've been home the pain has been worse (especially around my port site) but I've been taking vicodin as much as I can and that's helping a little. I need to push myself to start walking more now that I'm at home and don't have anyone watching me like a hawk.I was up 8 pounds out of the hospital...but I know that's just from the fluids (already lost about 5 of that). I'm still on clear liquids until tomorrow.I've also had a really rumbly tummy today...hoping that goes away soon. In the meantime, I'm trying to keep my adorable kitty from jumping on my lap...he's eyeing it right now.

WOW, I love my insurance!!! My doctor's office submitted my pre-approval yesterday so I called insurance today to see if they recieved it. Not only did they get it, but it's already approved!!!! I officially have my surgery date set for 12/5 at 730. This is all happening so quickly and I'm so excited!! I have my preop class next week already and set up my physical the week before surgery with my PCP.
