"My impression of Dr. O'Connell was that he was very concerned and wanted to help me and I felt like I could ask him anything and he would be honest about all of my questions.He treated me as if Iwas a family member and I was very relaxed.My impression never changed only that I felt close to him as the years went on.His office staff has and is always courteous and informative and friendly. I cannot think of a thing that I dislike about my doctor.Patients should know that he will be honest about this proceedure, as it is only a start and that this is not a cure all, that the way you live will change and that the proceedure only works if you work with the program.He does strongly reccomend aftercare for his patients and his is very well put together.He addressed all of the risks and dangers and nothing would have scared me away from having this done, I mean I was taking a risk every day that I was still gaining the weight, and slowly dying as a result of my obesity. My health has improved, I can walk, dance, play, skip, sit in chairs I wasnt able to sit in before, cros my legs, you name it I can do it now!! I trust him with my life and he is like my hero , so yes I feel strongly about his surgical competence and his bedside manner. I give him an A+. I am a new person..."
