My tummy tuck
Oct 20, 2008
Well I am 4 weeks post op from my tummy tuck. what a ride this has been. However, it is beautiful. this is a very painful intense procedure. Whatever you do, if you are considering it, make sure you can take at least 3 -4 weeks off from work. You HAVE to. No matter how strong you think you are, healing time is the same for me, or for you.
I went to Dr. Troy Thompson in Round Rock Texas. Thompson Plastic Surgery Center. he is fabulous. Nothing or no one sent me to him, I just picked him. So, you see, it was fate that I go to him. he went far above and beyond what he had to do, or I should say what the insurance pays for. Because, he is prroud of his work and wants the patient pleased. I originally thought I was just gonna have skin removed and staples. That was not the case. He meticulously removed 6 lbs of skin and did beautiful stitching from the inside out. I now have a tummy as tight and flat as any 18 year old. He wanted me to get a complete abdominalplasty but I could not afford the extra fee, and was concerned about the recovery time and my job. I truly believe that he did do the abplasty that is how beautiful it is.
I urge everyone in the Austin Tx and surrounding areas to use this man for any of your Plastic surgery needs. His staff, and himself are awesome caring people. I just love them. Contact me freely if you have any questions. I am happy to discuss this procedure and mentor anyone considering it. :)
oh, and another plus, i lost a total of 16 lbs since the surgery. So, you have to know I am pleased!!!

my story
Oct 25, 2006
9-9-06 I love to dance, paint, bowl, sew, build and repair computers, but not necessarily in that order. I am 51 years old. I am less than a week post op but I am doing wonderfully. I hope to be back in the swing of things totally in the next 2 weeks. Of course I cannot exercise to the fullest by then, but most things in moderation at least.
Professionally I am the Operations Manager where I am employed. I do everything from A-Z.
I am also Sr. Vice President of the Ladies Auxilliary of the VFW Post 10427 here in my home town of Leander. I am very involved and active in this club, serving veterans and our troups.
My only concern post op, is asthetic. Hanging skin. I hope to not suffer from that to much and I will do all that I can to keep that from happening if at all possible.
9-22-06 I am now 2.5 weeks post op. I feel wonderful, down 10lbs. I try to drink all that water, but it is hard!! I do get my protien in, thank goodness. I have minimal soreness at surgery sites now and I get around great. If anyone has a good recipe for a protein drink that tastes any kind of good, please email me!! I wish I had one to share! I am back at work as of the 18th and I get a pretty good workout here. More later
10-3-06 correction to the weight under the photo, it should be 270 lbs! I am now at 260!! yeah!! I have been struggling lately. I have been released to eat phase 3, which includes most foods and I am not doing well with much. I cant eat seafood!! The only time I have thrown up is after eating fish. I hate that, and love fish!! I try not to drink when I eat, but its real hard. Folks are noticing my 20 lbs loss and it feels great. Only 2 days short of 4 weeks post op. I am off all my meds except thyroid. NO diabetes, no hi blood pressure, excellent cholesterol level. I am so happy! I struggle with exhaustion. I have now been released to exercise, but I am not motivated to do so yet. What can I do for that? I still dont sleep well at night. Dr. Patel gave me Ambien, and I dont want to take it every night, so I do the best I can. I will try to update in 2 weeks.
10-10-06 still having problems keeping things down. seems like when I was 2 weeks out I could eat easily, and now I cant. Folks are telling me that is normal. I am ready for that to pass. The weight is not coming off as fast as it is for others I have read about. I think it is because of my thyroid, since I had hyperthyroidism before surgery and probably still do. I think I am getting most of the fluid in that I should, I certainly work hard at it. I am only down 28 lbs. so far. :(
