belly eek!

Jul 11, 2010

One of my big WOWs when I was losing weight was the day that my husband and I both fit in my tiny narrow kitchen.  The day that I didn't have to squish into the counter while he passed behind me by the stove was a GOOD DAY.

Today we were in there fixing breakfast and he needed to get by and because of my baby belly WE ARE BACK TO BEING SQUISHED.  I guess it's kind of an anti-wow, but I really don't mind because there's a baby in there and I have been feeling her have hiccups these past two days.

my DS pregnancy

May 17, 2010

This is my first pregnancy, so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but here are some of the things I've encountered during my DS pregnancy so far:

1) I kept losing weight my first trimester.  I actually reached my lowest weight ever when I was about 20 weeks pregnant.  After that dip, the second trimester weight brought me back up a little.  (So far I'm up 3-4 pounds from my lowest weight.)

2) After the nausea/morning sickness passed and I started getting hungry, I was eating ALL THE TIME.  The smallness of the DS stomach was a bit of a hindrance here because I really just wanted to "fill up" and forget about my hunger for a few hours.  Unfortunately that doesn't work with a DS and I had to schedule meals/snacks about every two to three hours.  This is not a terrible habit to get into, so I'm not complaining too much, but I just mention it because I'm super lazy.

3) Even now that I've actually gained a few pounds, I still feel like I've lost weight since I got pregnant in November.  I was comparing pictures of my face in November to pictures of my face today and there is definitely a difference there.  My face looks thinner.  Large tops (maternity, but still) are getting a bit loose on me.  So while my belly and the baby have been adding pounds, the rest of me has continued shrinking!  It's a little bizarre.  I just bought a size 10 dress last week!  (Stretchy, yes, but a size 10 nonetheless!)  I was about a 14/16 in November.

4) I am starting to realize that after the baby is born, I can probably work on reaching my real goal weight.  I had shelved the idea of ever getting to goal, but I'm starting to realize it definitely is attainable.  I might even low-carb a little to get there!

obese and pregnant

Dec 27, 2009

My husband was browsing through the tv listings and saw something called, "Obese and Pregnant".  I said, "That's me!" and he said, surprised, "I thought you were just fat now."

Lol.  I had to explain to him that I'm still about one pound from being "just overweight".  Funny how things happen.

geo's DS rules

Jul 20, 2009

Just thought I should write down some of the rules I live by these days...

1) Start every morning with a double scoop dose of protein.
2) Drink at least 64oz of water every day.
3) Don't skimp on the fat.
4) Never ever drink full-sugared drinks!  (Unless they are REALLY special and it's like your birthday or something, lol.)
5) If you are going to have carbs, make them complex.
6) Don't let yourself get ravenously hungry.
7) Just try to stay away from sugar in general.  Exception: birthday cake!
8) If you have a day of carboholism, relax and vow to do better tomorrow.

24th birthday

Jul 18, 2009

I can't believe that I'm smaller on my 24th birthday than I was for my 18th.  It is truly amazing what my DS has done, and I plan to have a spectacular day!

YAYYY!

lots o' things

Jun 16, 2009

I have a bunch of things to write down, so it's list time:

  • My cat Rocky died yesterday.  It's been a hard couple of days, but I'm trying not to blame myself.  He was 12 years old and his liver failed.  He lived a good long life and he was loved.
  • This long weekend was horrible for eating for me.
  • I realized today that I'm one week away from my 6 month surgiversary.
  • I have challenged myself to lose the four pounds I need to lose to make it to Onederland by next Tuesday.
  • I'm going to exercise and eat better this week.

    Today is brand new.

    halfway to goal

    Jun 06, 2009

I made it halfway to my goal today!  I've only got 65 more pounds to go.  And I've already lost 65, so I know I can do it!

    AND!

My sister got me some underwear, XL.  And they FIT.  Normal people underwear in an extra large!  I can hardly believe it!

    A good day!

    comments from my mother

    May 04, 2009

Sometimes when I eat in front of my mom, she says things like, "Haven't you had enough?" or "Don't eat so much!"

It can get incredibly frustrating.  I want to scream at her that I've lost 59 pounds eating the way I'm eating and that she doesn't need to monitor me every second.  She hardly even knows my nutritional needs!

    Ah!!!

Okay I just needed to get that out.
